Zana Peric (SRB) and Max Hodkinson (GBR) are this year’s champions at the Carlos Moyà 12 & Under Festival, the season-ending invitational event for Europe’s top players in this age group.
Celebrating its fifth edition, the Festival was once again hosted at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, welcoming 64 players from 22 nations. It’s a special week where young talents enjoy memorable moments both on and off the court. This year, many players had an unexpected highlight: they ran into Rafa Nadal on site, and several of them were lucky enough to take photos with their hero and receive autographs, a surprise they will not forget.
The event kicked off with a visit to the Rafa Nadal Museum, where players were dazzled by Rafa’s collection of trophies, from Grand Slams to junior career ones like Les Petits As. The visit was followed by the Opening Ceremony and a Q&A session with Toni Nadal and Tennis Europe President Henrik Thorsoe Pedersen. Toni Nadal shared insights from his coaching journey and spoke about some of the values behind Rafa’s success, telling the kids: “In this life you shouldn’t only think about winning, but about being a good person. And it’s easier to become a very good tennis player when you are a good person. Much easier.”
The off-court programme also featured the Tennis Europe Junior School, joined by two special guests: Sandi Procter, President of the LTA and Vice President of Tennis Europe, who spoke about her background and experiences at Wimbledon, and Olivier Lesimple from Dunlop, who explained to the players, coaches and parents how sponsorships work in tennis, even at a young age. Parents were invited to an additional 'Parents' Workshop', where they heard an update on the Junior Tour, and had the opportunity to ask questions to Tennis Europe staff, hear from expert coaches and to network.
Girls’ Final
Zana Peric (pictured, below) had a standout week, reaching both the singles and doubles finals. In her semifinal against Victoire Koko (FRA), she rallied from a set down to win in a match tiebreak.
Monica Iliescu (ROU) advanced solidly through the group stage and maintained strong form. In the final, she came back from 3-5 in the first set, briefly shifting the momentum. Peric, however, recovered quickly and closed the set 7-5. The second set was equally tight, but the Serbian stayed composed in the key moments and secured the win 7-5 6-4.
With a doubles silver already earned, Peric finished her week by taking home the singles gold.

Boys’ Final
Finalists Max Hodkinson (GBR) and William Vasii (ROU) both returned for their second Festival appearance. Last year as the youngest participants, this year among the most experienced. They each reached the doubles final as well, with Vasii winning the title alongside Kajus Seliukas (LTU).
In the group stage, Vasii needed time to settle, but once he found his rhythm, he advanced confidently to the final. Hodkinson dominated his early matches and produced a smart performance in his semifinal against No. 2 seed Seliukas.
The final was an intense battle. Hodkinson started strongly at 3-0, but Vasii fought back to take the first set 7-5. The second set followed a similar pattern, with Hodkinson again leading 3–1 before Vasii levelled at 3-3. The Romanian came close to closing the match at 7-5, 6-5, but Hodkinson showed exceptional resilience, forcing a tiebreak which he controlled throughout. With momentum on his side, he maintained his composure in the match tiebreak and claimed the title 5-7 7-6 10-4.
At the trophy ceremony, the players had the privilege of receiving their awards from tournament patron and former world #1 Carlos Moyà, making the moment even more special.
