Latest News - Day 7
27.07.2025 - 16:00 - GAME, SET, CHAMPIONSHIP!

What a run for Ukrainians Sofiia Bielinska and Violetta Skryp in the doubles competition. After coming from a set down in both their quarterfinal and semifinal matches to win in match tie-breaks, they entered today’s final against the Swedish duo Grace Bernstein and Emina Honic with confidence and started strong, taking the first set. Their opponents responded by winning the second, sending the match into another decisive tie-break. Bernstein and Honic took an early 3-0 lead, but the Ukrainians fought back to level the score. The tie-break remained tight, with both teams earning two consecutive match points. Ultimately, Bielinska and Skryp were the ones who managed claim the gold.
The boys’ doubles final marked the fourth out of four finals today that required a decisive set, or match tiebreak, to determine the winner. Second-seeded Andrej Adamovic and Max Lorincik of Slovakia claimed the first set 6-4, but top seeds Luys Calin and Lucas Herrera Sanchez (GER) came back and dominated the second set 6-2. The match tie-break proved to be another tightly contested battle, with the top seeds ultimately emerging victorious 4-6 6-2 12-10. After the win, Luys Calin told us: “It feels great. I mean, we were 2 matchpoints down in the semis and down another one in the final! They played really well and aggressively … and they were leading a set and 2:0, but we managed to win the second set and then somehow we won the match tiebreak. Lucas and I are both really happy and glad that we have the oppurtunity to play these tournaments!”
27.07.2025 - 12:50 - CHAMPION: RAFAEL PAGONIS

Rafael Pagonis is the winner of the European 14 & Under boys’ singles title, claiming the gold medal with a win over Laurens Drijver in a high quality championship decider in Most.
The Greek player stamped his authority on the match immediately, electing to receive and racing to a double break lead as his superior weight of shot drew errors from his Dutch opponent. Drijver slowly began to feel his way into the match, extending the rallies with some brutal side to side hitting. He finally held serve for 1-4 before threatening the Pagonis serve for the first time. But it was not to be and after a ten-minute game, the top seed broke once more to close out the opening set 6-1.
Drijver’s steady improvement paid off at the beginning of the second set as the players traded breaks, the fifth seed holding to establish a 3-0 lead. His down-the-line backhand, often wayward in set 1, suddenly produced a flurry of winners as he maintained his advantage to level the match 6-3.
The final set saw the roles reverse once again, as Pagonis scored the early break and kept his nose ahead throughout. An increasingly frustrated Drijver went down a double break as Pagonis grew in confidence once more, cracking a drive volley to win his service game to love for a 6-2 win.
The victory makes Pagonis the first ever Greek boy to win the 14 & Under title (Michaela Laki claimed the girls’ title in 2019), and he follows in the footsteps of Stefanos Tsitsipas, the 2016 18 & Under winner. Currently the Tennis Europe #1, Pagonis is clearly the standout player of the 2025 Junior Tour. With five singles titles under his belt prior to this week – all Cat. 1s except for the Super Category Maia Jovem - his place at October’s Junior Masters was already secure but is now confirmed.
Confirming his ambition to top a memorable season with a win in Monte-Carlo, Pagonis summarised his week in Most, saying “I’m very happy. It’s the best tournament I’ve played, and the best win so far for me.” Head over to Instagram for the interview and to see match point.
27.07.2025 - 12:45 - CHAMPION: DARINA MATVEJEVA
Darina Matvejeva is officially the new 14 & Under European champion. She started the final in dominant fashion, overwhelming her opponent in the first set with a commanding 6-0. She continued to lead in the second, going up 3-1, but that’s when the momentum shifted. Opponent Hannelore Daniels of Belgium found the courage to fight back, refusing to let the gold medal slip away without a battle. She levelled the score, moved ahead 4-3, and went on to take the set 6-4.
In the decider, however, the Latvian didn’t let the second set repeat itself. She stayed composed, regained control, and powered through to secure the title with a 6-0 4-6 6-1 victory.
Since her debut on the Junior Tour, Darina Matvejeva has built an impressive collection of titles. She dominated the 12 & Under category, winning nearly every tournament she entered, and has since claimed six, now seven titles in the 14 & Under category and one in the 16 & Under.
In case you missed it, here's the match point as well as Matvejeva's thoughts after the win:
27.07.2025 - 09:30 - ONE STEP AWAY FROM THE GOLD

It’s the final day of the competition and we will soon know who will join the Rolls of Honors alongside champions like Iga Swiatek, Novak Djokovic and Steffi Graf.
Rafael Pagonis has successfully kept his dominance and status as first seed and will today face Laurens Drijver. The two have played twice against each other, and they both have a win. Their latest encounter was in early June, the final at Torneo Avvenire, when Pagonis delivered a strong performance and claimed the title.
Top seed Darina Matvejeva had a strong week as well, only dropping one set in the semifinal. The last two matches were challenging for Hannelore Daniels, but her determination and focus helped her get to the final stage. Matvejeva and Daniels have had only one encounter, in 2023, at the 12 & Under event in Auray. Matvejeva won that match and holds a 1-0 lead, but we can’t predict what will happen on court today.
Right after the singles finals, the doubles teams will take the stage, so it’s a day full of intense action you won’t want to miss. Follow it all live using the links above.
Day 6
26.07.2025 - 17:20 - DOUBLES FINALS SET

The doubles finals are locked in after some hard-fought clashes on Saturday in Most.
Top seeded Germans Luys Calin & Lucas Herrera Sanchez (pictured) survived a thrilling final set tie break to live up to their top billing. The pair took the first set 6-3 over Moritz Freitag & Jakob Mittermayr before their Austrian opponents came roaring back, conceding just one game as they levelled the match at one set apiece. A 20-point deciding tie-break went to the wire but the Germans held their nerve to progress.
They’ll play second seeds Andrej Adamovic & Max Lorincik on Sunday after their win over Yehor Romaniuta & Yurii Stoliarov of Ukraine. The Slovaks fought back from a set down to level their match and kept the momentum going, leading throughout the deciding breaker thanks to some deft interceptions at the net.
It will be the second time this month that the finalists meet in a marquee match. Adamovic & Lorincik came out on top at the semi-finals of the Tennis Europe Summer Cups in Valencia to deny Germany a spot in the final.
The girls semis were the first and last matches of the entire day to be settled. There was better luck for Ukraine this morning as Sofiia Bielinska & Violetta Skryp scored an upset, taking out top seeded Brits Sofia Tatu & Grace Watson, dominating the deciding breaker 10-3.
They’ll face 16th seeded Swedes Grace Bernstein & Emina Honic in the gold medal match, after they won the last eight games to wrap up a quick 6-4 6-0 win over Lilly Marie Greinert and Marlene Szchech.
26.07.2025 - 16:00 - MATVEJEVA & HANNELORE TO THE FINAL
Darina Matvejeva showed today just how important the mental side of the game can be. After cruising through the first set against Lilly Marie Greinert, she lost her rhythm completely in the second, as the German stepped up and took control of every corner of the court. Greinert won 7 games in a row, but the momentum didn’t last. In a tightly contested final set, the two remained level until 4-4, when Matvejeva held her nerve under pressure to win the match 6-3 0-6 6-4.
This will be Darina Matvejeva’s fourth final of the year and perhaps the one where she finally breaks the cycle, after finishing as a runner-up in her previous three.
The other semifinal was almost as intense. Daniels Hannelore won the first set in a tiebreak and looked to be heading for the final, leading 5-3 in the second. But Korana Barisic wouldn’t back down, battling back to level the score at 5-5. After days of near-perfect weather, the rain finally arrived, forcing a one-hour delay just as the match was heating up. When play resumed, the set went to another tiebreak, almost a replay of the first. Hannelore held her composure and won it by the same score, sealing the win.
26.07.2025 - 12:20 - PAGONIS & DRIJVER SET UP BOYS FINAL SHOWDOWN
Laurens Drijver hit peak form on Saturday to book his place in the final of the European 14 & Under Championships. The Dutch fifth seed won eight of the last nine games to complete a 6-4 6-1 victory over Slovakia’s Max Lorincik, seeded fourth.
The victor told us he was happy with the performance, “After I won the first set I played more loose and [my level] was going up and up,” he said. Drijver has now accounted for three of his fellow seeds, having also taken out #12 Vencel Fazekas (HUN) and #2 Mario Vukovic (FRA) on his way to the semis.
The win marks his third appearance in a Junior Tour final this season, having finished as runner-up at the Category 1 Avvenire and Bolton tournaments. His conqueror in the Rome final was none other than the Tennis Europe #1 Rafael Pagonis, who he face once again on Sunday for the coveted gold medal.
Pagonis came through a bruising battle with Moritz Freitag to become the first Greek boy ever to reach the final of the European 14 & Under Championships (Stefanos Tsitsipas is a former winner of the 18 & Under event).
The pair know each other well having played three times in the last six weeks and their matches are becoming titanic battles. Pagonis struck first, leading 4-0 and 5-2 before Freitag hit his stride and levelled at 5-5. It was to no avail though as the top seed held on to take the tie break.
Just as in their match at the Wimbledon invitation a fortnight ago, Freitag struck back hard, racing to a 5-1 lead before eventually levelling the match with a 6-2 second set. On this occasion though it was Pagonis who better handled the third set pressure, breaking immediately and cutting out loose errors to build a 4-1 lead, at which point the young star was relaxed enough to go for a stunning tweener-lob that landed just out.
Pagonis admitted that their last encounter had been on his mind in the second set, and motivated him to victory. Check here his post-match comments…
26.07.2025 - 09:45 - SEMI-FINALS DAY!
The sun is shining (for now), the players are warming up and we’re counting down to the start of the 2025 European 14 & Under Championships semi-finals.
Play starts at 10am when the boys’ singles matches will be played simultaneously. Max Lorincik (SVK) and Laurens Drijver (NED) first met exactly one month ago, when Lorincik won 6-2 7-5 in the Summer Cups. They’ll do battle on centre court, while over on Court 1 Tennis Europe’s #1 player Rafael Pagonis (GRE) meets rival Moritz Freitag (AUT) for the third time in two months. Pagonis has won their three ‘official’ singles encounters, going back to 12&U days and as recently as last month’s Raynes Park final. But Moritz flipped the script earlier this month, beating Pagonis to claim the Wimbledon 14&U Invitational title. Who will triumph this time as they face off in yet another high-profile match?
The girls semi-finals follow, with top seed Darina Matvejeva (LAT) taking on Germany’s Lilly Marie Greinert. In three previous encounters Matvejeva has not dropped a set against her opponent, but Greinert is in searing form in Most and conceded just sixteen games in four matches so far.
The second match on Court 1 sees unseeded Korana Barisic (CRO) take on Hannelore Daniels (BEL). They have met just once before – also on clay, two months ago at the Dr. Oetker Junior Trophy where Barisic claimed a three set victory over the ninth seed.

Day 5
25.07.2025 - 17:30 - CZECHIA EXITS THE CHAT
Day 5 wraps up, and with it, the home players have exited the competition.
In the girls’ doubles draw, top seeds Sofia Tatu and Grace Watson (GBR) held on to their spot—though just barely. They were pushed to the limit by Belgians Noor Ceulemans and Hannelore Daniels but managed to survive a close call. Meanwhile, Ukrainians Sofiia Bielinska and Violetta Skryp were the ones to upset local favorites Beata Maresova and Sofie Mottlova, claiming victory in a match tiebreak 5-7 6-3 10-4.
On the boys’ side, top seeds Luys Calin and Lucas Herrera Sanchez (GER) also advanced and will next face Austria’s Moritz Freitag and Jakob Mittermayr. Slovaks Andrej Adamovic and Max Lorincik ended the impressive run of the Swiss duo of Alexander Bisserov & Tomasz Van Zyl, halting their momentum and moving on to the next round.
Doubles semifinals:
Girls
(1) Sofia Tatu & Grace Watson (GBR) vs. (8) Sofiia Bielinksa & Violetta Skryp (UKR)
(16) Grace Bernstein & Emina Honic (SWE) vs. Lilly Marie Greinert & Marlene Victoria Sczech (GER)
Boys
(1) Luys Calin & Lucas Herrera Sanchez (GER) vs. (10) Moritz Freitag & Jakob Mittermayr (AUT)
(2) Andrej Adamovic & Max Lorincik (SVK) vs. Yehor Remanuita & Yurii Stoliarov (UKR)
25.07.2025 - 14:30 - COMING UP NEXT: SEMIS

Both top seeds have officially advanced to the semifinals. Darina Matvejeva secured her spot with a 6-3 6-0 win over Romana Dekanova and will next face Germany’s Lilly Marie Greinert, who defeated Czech player Sofie Mottlova 6-2 6-3. That result brings an end to a long-standing streak: for the first time since 2017, no Czech girl has reached the 14&U EJC semifinals.
Daniels Hannelore faced a much tougher challenge against Laura Masarykova. After losing momentum in the second set, she managed to regroup in the third and win 6-4 3-6 6-2. In the semifinal she'll meet Korana Barisic (pictured), who delivered a fantastic performance today. She defeated Daniel Baranes in straight sets - while the first set was tightly contested, Barisic took full control in the second, sealing the win 7-6 6-2. She's also the only unseeded player reaching the semis.
25.07.2025 - 13:00 - DRIJVER'S NOT BACKING DOWN

With the boys' quarterfinals now complete, one surprising fact stands out: for the first time since 2018, no Czech player reached this stage of the tournament.
Rafael Pagonis will battle for a place in the final against Moritz Freitag, an increasingly familiar opponent. The two have built a strong rivalry in recent months, meeting several times, including on grass at Raynes Park and Wimbledon, where they each claimed a win.
Laurens Drijver came through the toughest match of the day, upsetting France’s Mario Vukovic. After dropping the first set, he came back to win the second-set tiebreak and eventually closed out the match 3-6 7-6 6-2. He will face Slovakia’s Max Lorincik tomorrow, who holds a 1-0 head-to-head lead after their Summer Cups meeting last month.
25.07.2025 - 08:30 - MEDAL HOPES ADD TO QUARTERFINAL PRESSURE
It’s quarter finals day in Most at the European 14 & Under Championships, and the pressure is on. Every main draw singles and doubles match today has extra weight, as the winners are guaranteed a medal for reaching the semifinals.
Four boys (Moritz Freitag, Yurii Stoliarov, Max Lorincik and Lucas Angel Herrera Sanchez) and three girls (Hannlore Daniels, Sofie Mottlova and Lilly Marie Greinert) are still in both competitions.
Curiously, the quarterfinals will be the first time each of the girls has played their opponent, while three of the four boys’ quarterfinals have history: Rune Hosten leads Moritz Freitag 2-0 in their Junior Tour head-to-head, Luis Angel Herrera Sanchez leads Max Lorincik 1-0, and Luys Drijver will be hoping score a first win over Mario Vukovic in five attempts.
Stay tuned to the live stream as the medal hunt continues!

Day 4
24.07.2025 - DOUBLE TROUBLE

Day 4 comes to an end with plenty of surprises in the doubles draw, seeded teams fell in both the boys' and girls' events!
In the girls’ draw, the Danish duo of Emilia Henningsen and Emilia Thygesen upset the second-seeded Czech pair, Eva Halfarova and Gabriela Sulcova. Pippa Fennis and Mila Van Der Lecq from the Netherlands also pulled off an upset, defeating the third-seeded Swiss team of Liv Bretscher and Kim Kriesi, before eventually falling to Germany’s Lilly Maria Greinert and Marlene Victoria Sczech. The Estonian pair of Elizaveta Anikina and Vera Morozova, seeded fifth, shared a similar fate - they were defeated by Slovaks Romana Dekanova and Laura Masarykova.
In the boys’ draw, Swiss players Alexander Bisserov and Tomasz Van Zyl (pictured above) had a strong run, upsetting fifth seeds Bekir Esendagli and Cinar Senkaya (TUR), right after taking down the 11th-seeded Greek duo of Rafael Pagonis and Thanos Xirotagaros.
Top seeds Luys Calin and Lucas Ariel Herrera Sanchez of Germany have advanced to the quarterfinals. Calin shared after the match:
“It was really fun playing together. We had a great first set, we played really aggressively, and my partner played really well too. In the second set we were leading 4-1, then they started playing more aggressively, and we struggled a bit. But we managed to win 6-3.”
Tomorrow promises to be a day full of intense matches, so watch this space again for live updates. You can check the schedule here.
24.07.2025 - 17:30 - GIRLS FINAL 8 CONFIRMED
Korana Barisic (CRO) scored one of the biggest wins today, over fifth seed Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu (TUR) in straight sets, 7-5 6-3. The two had played only once before, back in June, with Çukurluoglu winning that match. This time, however, Barisic turned the tables and will face Daniel Baranes (FRA) tomorrow, in what will be their first singles meeting.
Despite upsetting second seed Elizaveta Anikina (EST) yesterday, Ukrainian Sofiia Belinska couldn’t keep the momentum going against Laura Masarykova (SVK) who won 7-5 6-3 to advance to the next round.
Tomorrow’s girls quarterfinals:
(1) Darina Matvejeva (LAT) vs. (10) Romana Dekanova (SVK)
(13) Lilly Marie Greinert (GER) vs. (8) Sofie Mottlova (CZE)
Korana Barisic (CRO) vs. Daniel Baranes (FRA)
(9) Hannelore Daniels (BEL) vs. Laura Masarykova (SVK)
24.07.2025 - 12:35 - RIVALRIES EMERGE IN BATTLE FOR QUARTERFINAL SPOTS

Some interesting young rivalries are emerging on the Junior Tour evidenced by Thursday’s early matches in Most.
Romana Dekanova improved her head to head against sixth seeded Grace Watson of Great Britain to 2-0. Both matches have been tight battles: in their last meeting Dekanova won the Piestany Cat. 1 title 6-4 in the third set. On this occasion Watson had the chance to serve for a 6-4 final set win, but her Slovak opponent came roaring back to win the last three games, eventually securing her place in the quarter finals 7-6 3-6 7-5.
In the boys’ competition, Laurens Drijver (pictured) of the Netherlands levelled his head-to-head against Vencel Fazekas (HUN). They last met indoors at the Winter Cups in February when the Hungarian won in three sets. This time Drijver came back from the loss of the opening set to score a decisive 4-6 6-2 6-1 win. Drijver is hoping to keep the trophy in Dutch hands, following the victory of compatriot Stan Put last year.
Rune Hosten of Belgium will also be satisfied to have levelled his career meetings against Luys Calin (GER) at 2-2. He too recovered from a set down, but the match went to the wire this time, the fifth seed eventually securing his progress with a 2-6 6-4 7-5 victory.
His win completed the line-up for tomorrow’s boys quarter finals:
(1) Rafael Pagonis (GRE) vs. (9) Yurii Stoliarov (UKR)
(3) Moritz Freitag (AUT) vs. (11) Rune Hosten (BEL)
(6) Lucas Ariel Herrera Sanchez (GER) vs. (4) Max Lorincik (SVK)
(5) Laurens Drijver (NED) vs. (2) Mario Vukovic (FRA)
24.07.2025 - 09:00 - READY, SET, PLAY
Round of 16 is now on, with plenty of interesting matches in sight. By the end of today we should have the list of the final eight players.
It's not very common, especially at the 14 & Under international level, for players to have a long history against each other, but Luys Calin [7] (GER) and Rune Hosten [11] (BEL) are an exception. Having already developed a rivalry in the 12 & Under category, they now face off for the first time in the Tour’s middle age group.

Day 3
23.07.2025 - 20:30 - BOYS' TOP SEEDS CRUISE INTO FOURTH ROUND

Just one of the Top 8 boys’ seeds failed to make it through to the Round of 16 on Wednesday, setting up some enticing encounters for Day 4 of the European 14 & Under Championships.
Igor Peric of Serbia posted the lone surprise among the top contenders, as he fought the loss of the first set to concede just one more game to 8th seed Cinar Senkaya (TUR), winning 3-6 6-0 6-1. By contrast, the top seven seeds all advanced in straight sets today. Tennis Europe #1 Rafael Pagonis of Greece dropped just two games to Mark Jony (HUN). He next faces unseeded Emanuele Pilotto of Italy, who won their only previous encounter – albeit a doubles match – at the Avennire tournament earlier this year.
Moritz Freitag (pictured) of Austria – who recently beat Pagonis in the Wimbledon Invitational final – booked his place in the fourth round with a 6-1 6-2 win over Evan Giurescu (FRA), and next plays #16 seed Andrej Adamovic (SVK).
Less than 100 points separate Pagonis, Freitag and Mario Vukovic – also an easy winner today – at the top of the rankings: if any of the three can claim gold here in Most, they will surely also take the coveted European #1 ranking.
Meanwhile, the girl’s competition is proving to be a dangerous place to be a seed. The upsets of this morning continued after lunch as Marlene Sczech (GER) beat fourth seeded Czech Eva Halfarova in three sets. Noemi Noegradi of Italy also needed three sets as she ended the stubborn resistance of third seeded Violetta Skryp (UKR), the runner-up at the Super Category Maia event earlier this year.
Also claiming a berth in the fourth round is Korana Barisic (CRO), who beat 12th seed Konstantina Volonaki (GRE) in two tiebreaks.

23.07.2025 - 16:10 - DOUBLES TAKES CENTRE STAGE
As the doubles tournaments kick off, let's take a look at some of the past champions of the event. Incredibly, 16 former European Junior Doubles gold medallists went on to become world #1 in their professional careers, including the current WTA #1 Katerina Siniakova.

23.07.2025 - 12:15 - BIELINSKA LEADS THE WAY AS UPSETS ROCK GIRLS' SINGLES

Early play on Day 3 has produced the biggest upsets so far, especially in the girls' singles competition.
Sofiia Bielinska (pictured) continued what’s shaping up to be a great event for Ukraine, conceding just three games to second seeded Elizaveta Anikina (EST) to cause the biggest shock so far. In reality, it was a tough match up for a third round encounter: ranked #52 on the Junior Tour, Bielinska is 17th in the Race to Monte-Carlo and has one singles and two doubles titles under her belt this season. Anikina though had won six events already in 2026, and is ranked #2 on the Junior Tour and #3 in the Race.
She’ll next play Slovakia’s Laura Masarykova who caused another upset, ousting 14th seed Liv Bretscher (SUI) 6-3 6-3. In a match suspended from last night, 26th ranked Nina Tepic (SRB) held her nerve to beat fifth-seeded Brit Sofia Tatu 2-6 6-2 7-6. One round behind, she’ll be back on court later today to face home hope Beata Maresova (CZE).
23.07.2025 - 08:30 - RISE AND SHINE
Players are warming up and getting ready for a full day of action, with both singles and doubles on the schedule. Three matches from yesterday remain unfinished and will resume today, including the closely contested encounter between fifth seed Sofia Tatu (GBR) and Nina Tepic (SRB), which was paused at 6-2 2-6 1-1.
With many matches still to be played, motivation is high in Most. An invitation to compete at the Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo is one of the major rewards awaiting the tournament winner. Ranking points are also at stake and could make a significant difference in the weeks ahead. As of now, here’s how the current rankings look:
Day 2
22.07.2025 - 21:20 - DAY 2 ROUND-UP

Despite the constant threat of rain – and even some thunder claps - the European Junior Championships in Most is back on schedule after a marathon second day of play with no interruptions.
It was a disappointing day for Spain’s boys, as two members of the recent winning Summer Cups squad suffered defeats in their opening matches. Junior Tour #20 Stefan Shangichev was beaten 6-2 7-5 by Mark Jony of Hungary, while Pepe Garcia Ruiz lost 6-4 6-0 to Ukraine’s Yehor Romaniuta (pictured).
Zaliha Nil Çukurluoglu of Turkey recovered from the loss of the first set to maintain her good run of recent form. A runner up last week at the Open Stade Français, where the final was played on the courts of Roland Garros, the sixth seed ousted Grace Bernstein of Sweden 3-6 6-3 6-3.
All in all, it was a good day for the seeds, with just three minor upsets: Filip Sebek was the unlucky 13th seed in the boys’ singles, falling 7-6 6-1 to Emanuele Pilotto (ITA), while on the girls’ side Eda-Lara Sacirovic (BIH) took out #15 Kim Kreisi (SUI) 7-5 6-4. In her second match of the day, the 2023 Carlos Moyá 12&U Festival champion Daniel Baranes (FRA) beat #16 Julia Ehrenberger (AUT) 7-6 6-4.
Day 3 is set to feature another packed schedule as the doubles competition gets under way. Check back here tomorrow morning to follow the action.
22.07.2025 - 14:45 - TOP SEEDS ARE THROUGH

Both first seeds Rafael Pagonis (GRE) and Darina Matvejeva (LAT) have won their matches of the day. Pagonis defeated Switzerland’s Alexander Bisserov 6-3 6-3, while Matvejeva secured a 6-0 6-4 win against Ofir Manhard (ISR). In the next round, they will face opponents they’ve previously encountered only in doubles: Pagonis is set to play Hungary’s Mark Jony and Matvejeva will take on Altea Cineo of Italy.

22.07.2025 - 12:30 - OPENING MATCHES COMPLETE
The first round is complete after a productive morning in Most. Among the early winners were Enea Gaudenzi (MON), who won his first ever Junior Tour main draw match. He completed the comeback he launched before rain stopped play yesterday to outlast Malta’s Gianluca Pace 3-6 7-5 6-1. Son of former ATP Top 20 player Andrea Gaudenzi, Enea will next face 15th seed Francisco Sardinha (POR) later today. Amongst the girls’ standout winners were Emilia Henningsen (DEN), who scored a 6-0 6-0 win over Sonia Sirenius (FIN) and #158 Altea Cieno (ITA), who upset #35 Eva Maria Bulai (ROU) 6-3 6-1. Click here for all the results so far.
22.07.2025 - 08:45 - A BUSY DAY AHEAD
With 17 first round matches postponed from yesterday, plus a complete schedule of second round ties - with the top seeds making their competition debuts - Tuesday looks set to be a busy day in Most. The good news is that the weather forecase is better than yesterday, though some short showers are expected. Play begins at 9am.
Meanwhile, check out our gallery, which has been updated overnight with pictures from the opening ceremony (below) and action shots from Day 1, courtesy of photographer extraordinaire Richard van Loon.

Day 1
21.07.2025 - 19:10 - DAY 1 CUT SHORT
Day 1 in Most was significantly disrupted by heavy rain, which covered the courts for several hours and forced a major change of the schedule. As a result, only 20 of the 37 scheduled matches were completed before play was suspended.
Despite the challenging conditions, a number of players managed to book their place in the second round. Among them were Ofir Manhard, 26th-ranked Koen Ceelaert (NED), who delivered a solid win over Denmark’s Laurits Oestergaard, and Lionel Hermans (BEL).
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the remaining first-round matches, both postponed and interrupted, will be played, followed by the start of Round 2. The top seeds are set to take to the courts, including Rafael Pagonis (GER), Moritz Freitag (AUT), Darina Matvejeva (LAT), Sofia Tatu (GBR), and many others eager to compete and show why they’re among the favorites to win the title.
21.07.2025 - 09:40 - TENNIS EUROPE JUNIOR SCHOOL
On the eve of the Championships, lots of fun was had at the now-traditional Tennis Europe Junior School class. Hosted by Junior Department Manager Cristina Perotti, the players convened for an entertaining and educational session which focused on a range of issues, including the history of the Championships, and media training. As you can see over on Instagram, you can’t believe everything a junior tennis player tells you…
21.07.2025 - 08:50 - TODAY'S SCHEDULE
Players are gathering for the event's opening ceremony at 09:30, ahead of the start of play, scheduled for 10am. A total of 64 first round singles matches are scheduled to be played on Monday. All seeded players have received a bye and begin the event in Round 2 on Tuesday. Today's weather outlook is not great, with rain showers expected for most of the afternoon.

Arguably the most hotly-anticipated event on the Junior Tour calendar, the European Junior Championships brings together the top players from each nation to compete for the prestigious title, 250 ranking points, and an invitation to compete at the Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo in October.
The 14 & Under event is being hosted by the Czech Tennis Association in Most for an eighth consecutive year. 13 of the Top 15-ranked boys and 11 of the Top 13 girls are set to be in action, led by #1s Rafael Pagonis (GRE) and Darina Matvejeva (LAT).
The European Junior Championships has traditionally been a launchpad for even greater triumphs. 13 singles champions and 14 doubles champions have gone on to become world #1 in their professional careers. Among the current top stars to have won European Junior titles are Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Iga Swiatek and Daria Kasatkina.
Events for players aged 16 and 18 & Under will be held in September.
