Competition Background

'Tennis Europe Summer Cups' is the collective name for a group of European Team Championship events held across the continent during the summer months. Each event consists of a qualifying competition held at several venues across the continent. The top two* nations from each group qualify for the final rounds. With eight* qualifying venues for each category (4 for boys, 4 for girls), each hosting up to eight* teams, and with 4 age categories in total (12, 14, 16 and 18 & Under), the tournament is easily the largest junior team tennis competition in Europe. Furthermore, four of these events act as the European regional qualifying competition for worldwide junior competitions; World Junior Tennis (14 & Under), the Junior Billie Jean King Cup and Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas (16 & Under). A new chapter in the history of the competitions began in 2022, when the 12 & Under summer team event formerly known as the Nations Challenge was brought under the Summer Cups umbrella, and presented by Dunlop.
