Green Tennis - Advice & Resources
GreenTennis is an Erasmus+ project, co-funded by the European Union, that Tennis Europe is partaking in with partners from across Europe. Its aim is simple: to help everyone involved in tennis reduce the environmental impact of the sport, from the way tournaments are organised to how players get to training.
As part of the project, we have produced two practical guides. Each one follows the tournament journey, before, during and after the event, and offers simple, realistic actions that make a difference. All content is offered as recommendations and suggestions, not requirements, so every club, event and family can start where it makes sense for them.
For Tournament Directors & Club Managers: a green tournament toolkit covering planning and set-up, venue and infrastructure, digital-first communication, water refill, waste sorting, tennis ball collection, energy use, and measuring and reporting your event’s impact. ⬇️ Download:Toolkit for Tournament Organisers and Club Managers
For Players, Parents & Coaches: Everyday tips on sustainable travel, choosing equipment, refilling instead of buying new, respecting the venue, what to do with used balls and gear, and how to share good habits as a Green Tennis Ambassador. ⬇️ Download: Booklet for Players, Parents & Coaches
Also available to download are summary posters for each audience (seen below). Tennis Europe encourages national federations to share them with their clubs, tournament organisers, coaches and players, and to send us their own green initiatives so we can share good practice across Europe.
