Year-End Junior Tour Rankings Published

Hot on the heels of the season-ending Tennis Europe Junior Masters tournament last week, the organisation has published the final Tennis Europe Junior Tour rankings lists of the season.

2013 was the biggest year yet for the Tour, whih saw over 10,000 participants in action at 342 tournaments split across three age groups (12, 14 and 16 & Under) and staged in 45 of Tennis Europe's 49 member nations.

The Junior Masters champions fared well in the year-end lists, with Girls 14 & Under and Boys 16 & Under champions Evgeniya Levashova (RUS) and Mate Valkusz (HUN) ending the season as the European #1s in their age groups, while Boys 14 & Under winner Samuele Ramazzotti (ITA) and Girls 16 & Under champ Ioana Minca (ROU) both ended the season at #2.

European Junior Champion Corentin Moutet of France ends the season as the 14 & Under boys’ #1, an impressive feat given that he played less events than other player in the Top 20.

Levashova topped the girls’ list by a clear margin, having won 6 of the 10 14 & Under events that she played. She leads a total of four Russian girls to appear in the Top 10.

Valkusz, who ended last season as the 14 & Under #2, is the first Hungarian boy ever to end the season in pole position, having won 5 events and won 39 of 46 matches.

Just 50 points separated the Girls 16 & under Top 3, with Michaela Bayerlova becoming the first Czech girl ever to finish as the 16 & under #1, thanks largely to a fruitful summer in which she won four consecutive tournaments and saw her overall ranking climb by 200 places.

The full final rankings lists can be found below, while the those of previous years (1990-2012) can be found here. No rankings are published for the 12 & Under age group.
