IMG Future Stars attend Tennis Europe Junior School

A special invitational event is taking place this week in Athens, Greece, where many of the world’s best 12 & Under players are gathered to compete at the IMG Future Stars Invitational.

Aside from the top class tournament, the players in action at the prestigious Tatoï Club are treated to a full schedule of off-court social and cultural activities and an exhibition match between Top 20 players Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe.

The event also has a strong educational aspect, with workshops for players, parents & coaches held throughout the week. Tennis Europe was invited to join the proceedings as an Educational Partner and took the opportunity to provide the young players with a introductory Tennis Europe Junior School class, hosted by CEO Thomas Hammerl. Amongst the subjects covered were ‘The Tennis Family’, ‘Warm-Up and Recovery’, and ‘Nutrition and Hydration’.

Mr. Hammerl said, “We are thrilled to bring the Junior School to this unique event, giving some of the world’s best 12 & Under players a taste of what awaits them on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour and beyond. The education of players is of huge importance for the European Tennis Federation, and we collaborate with the ITF, ATP and WTA, to ensure consistent messaging throughout the players’ careers, and to consult on relevant topics and themes. I’d like to thank IMG for inviting us to contribute to the agenda and hope that we can continue to work together in the future for the benefit of young players.”

Tennis Europe Junior School video resources can be found online in a number of major European languages, and are free of charge for all players, coaches and parents.
