Roehampton event offers Junior Tour stars a chance of Wimbledon glory

With summer just around the corner, the grass court season is nearly here and the Tennis Europe Junior Tour’s top players can now also experience the unique feeling of playing on grass.

The Junior International in Roehampton (12-18 June) tournament provides young talents with a chance to test their skills on a surface many of them have never played competitively on before. The event welcomes them to the famous grass courts of the Wimbledon qualifying venue, and best of all: the winners will advance to play at Wimbledon’s 14&U Invitational tournament!

The first edition of the Junior International Roehampton in 2022 was a resounding success. The players enjoyed competing on the prestigious courts and participating in different off-court activities, including a special Junior School session. Moreover, the finalists secured their spots for the inaugural 14 & Under invitational tournament at Wimbledon, which proved to be another unforgettable experience. One of those was Andreea Soare (ROU) who also went on to reach the final of 14&U Wimbledon event, where she faced her doubles partner and compatriot Alexia Ioana Tatu. Soare said “it’s a feeling like no other, playing on those courts..I felt very lucky to be there.”

Entries are now open for the only Junior Tour grass court event on the 2023 calendar - Junior International Roehampton. Click here for more information about the tournament.
