Board of Management meets in Basel

The first Tennis Europe Board of Management meeting of 2022 took place this week in Basel, Switzerland, and was full of fresh energy and enthusiasm. The two-day meeting covered a wide range of topics, including a sponsorship update, new income stream opportunities, Davis Cup/Billie Jean King Cup, Development possibilities and the organisation’s 2021 financial results and 2022 budget.

In a new approach, each Board member is overseeing a field of expertise. Updates were made by Giorgio Di Palermo (ITA), who is leading the Junior Tour Live Streaming project, Roger Davids (NED), overseeing the Digital Transformation and Stakeholder Engagement, Cem Tinaz (TUR), who contributes his expertise in Erasmus Plus projects and EU Funding, and Honorary Treasurer Jordi Tamayo De Winne (ESP), chair of the Governance and Ethics Task Force and leader of a Constitutional review project.

President Ivo Kaderka said, “2022 is shaping up to be an pivotal year for Tennis Europe. The Board of Management is united and motivated and each member is bringing their expertise to the table with personalised projects and responsibilities. We are working for the benefit of our Member Nations and to ensure the unity and prosperity of European tennis."

The Board also took the opportunity to visit and meet with staff at the organisation’s headquarters (pictured).
