Beach Tennis

Launched in 2008, the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour now consists of over 300 tournaments in 37 countries worldwide. Players are ranked individually based on their results in doubles events only. The sport is played using Beach Tennis paddles and a low compression Stage 2 'orange' tennis ball, on sand courts measuring 16 x 8 metres and a net 1.7 metres high.

Tennis Europe's involvement with the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour comes mainly in the form of the annual celebration of the European Beach Tennis Championships. First played in 2007 as a team event, the competition has grown exponentially each year and the competition regularly hosts well over 100 players from 20 nations at each edition.
