Tennis Europe Junior Tour Mobile App Launched

Tennis Europe has announced the release of a mobile app designed for players and followers of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.

The app, currently available for iPhone, iPad and Android consumers, is free of charge and features a wide range of content relating to the Tour including tournament information, calendars, results, rankings, player profiles, head to head records and much more. Users can also keep abreast of general news from the Tennis Europe website and check the feeds from social media sites.

The move to mobile technology represents a further evolution of Tennis Europe’s communication platforms following a period of exponential growth in web traffic for the organisation resulting from the digitalisation of the Junior Tour. In recent months, the total amount of www.tenniseurope.org page impressions accessed by mobile devices has increased to 24%, and the app is intended to improve the browsing experience for these users.

The Tennis Europe Junior Tour consists of over 320 events each year for players aged 12, 14 and 16 & Under, staged across 45 of Tennis Europe’s 49 member nations. Virtually all of today’s top professional players including world #1s Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka competed on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour during their formative years.

Tennis Europe Chief Executive Officer Olli Mäenpää remarked, “We are delighted to further extend our portfolio of communication tools and to be pioneers in launching an app aimed at junior players and their followers. Our website has undergone a massive growth in traffic in recent years and now users can stay in touch with the latest information from our key events at all times. The project has been possible thanks to our partnership with Tournamentsoftware, who has assisted our online developments including last year’s website re-launch and the implementation of an online entry system for the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.”

The application can be downloaded here (iTunes) and here (Android).
