Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD Finals

The final rounds of the 2011 Tennis Europe Winter Cups by HEAD will take place from 18-20 February at four European venues.

Last year France won both boys' competitions, and Czech Republic won both girls' events. Both nations are on course to defend their titles. In fact, Czech Republic is in the unique position of having qualified for the final rounds in all 4 categories. They each face some strong competition; Russia has dominated the girls' tournament in recent years and fields two particularly strong teams, with both the 14 and 16 & Under squads featuring two of the Top 5 European players. European 14 & Under #1 Belinda Bencic anchors the Swiss squad, while Petra Rohanova will hope to make the most of a home advantage for the Czechs as she leads the 16 & Under squad.

The Czechs are set to take the top seeding at the Boys 14 & Under event in Ascoli. Other teams to look out for include Estonia, whose top player Kenneth Raisma has had a great start to the year and is knocking on the door of the European Top Ten, and Poland, whose 6th-ranked Michal Dembek is the highest ranked player to have qualified.

Great Britain has a formidable 16 & Under squad, led by a inspirational captain in the shape of former world #4 Greg Rusedski. Some of the other teams also have a wealth of experience; Germany's #1 Maximilian Marterer currently holds five Tennis Europe Junior Tour titles, while French pair Enzo Py and Enzo Couacaud are veterans of the event, having reached the 14 & Under final in 2009.
