Tennis Europe Junior Masters - as it happened

The 2026 Tennis Europe Junior Masters took place at the Monte-Carlo Country Club from 22-24 October. The round-robin event brings together Europe’s top-performing boys and girls in the 14 & Under and 16 & Under categories, competing for one of junior tennis’s most prestigious titles.

This year’s line-up is particularly strong; all four #1s in the Race to Monte-Carlo powered by Smartshot will be present, aiming to capture the prestigious title and secure the year-end top ranking. Between them, the players have won 1,211 matches on the Junior Tour this season, accruing a total of 71 singles titles.

The event format sees the competition played over four days with the eight qualifiers in each category split into two round robin groups, guaranteeing three live matches before a final day of placement matches and a final between the two group winners. Click here for a full rundown of the 32 elite players in action. Former champions include Rafa Nadal, Kim Clijsters, Alexander Zverev, and Belinda Bencic.

📢 Latest News - Day 4

24.10.2026 - 19:00 -  KRZYSKO MAKES HISTORY FOR POLAND

Fourth seed Blazej Krzysko (pictured, left) of Poland is the new Tennis Europe Junior Masters champion.

In the boys’ 16 & Under final he beat Hungary’s Mark Jony 6-4 6-1 in just 68 minutes, capping a flawless week in which the Pole won all four of his matches in straight sets.

Incredibly, the win in Monte-Carlo is his first title of the season, having lost finals in Brno (CZE) and Larnaca (CYP). He becomes the first Polish player ever to win a Junior Masters title, and ends the season in style by leapfrogging his opponent into the Top 3.

Seeded #2, Jony had been hoping to win his second title of the season and topped Group B with his own series of straight sets wins. He hit a purple patch early in the first set, breaking to lead to 3-2 but from there it was all Krzysko, who hit his stride to win ten of the next twelve games.

Elsewhere, Arno Avetisyan - the first Armenian to play at the Masters - claimed the bronze medal with a hard-fought comeback win over Ukraine's Vladimir Bohomolkin, 1-6 6-4 7-5. Dmitrii Armetev beat Nicholai H Petersen 6-0 6-3 to secure fifth place overall, and Luka Kostic (SRB) beat substitute Marco Matteo Capitini (MON) in three sets to finish seventh.

Over on socials, the guys have been having some fun. PS Mark - we need that phone back!

24.10.2026 - 16:30 - PANAGIOTIDOU BECOMES FIRST GREEK GIRL TO WIN THE JUNIOR MASTERS

Lydia Panagiotidou
of Greece has beaten Zana Peric (SRB) to win the Girls’ 16 & Under title in Monte-Carlo.

The two players came into the Masters as co-#1s in the Race to Monte-Carlo powered by Smartshot, having each accumulated 1110 points on the Junior Tour throughout the season. Surprisingly, the contest was their first meeting, but the Greek player seemed to know exactly what to do, racing to a 6-2 6-3 win in just 80 minutes.

Panagiotidou’s performance during the week was impeccable. Posting four consecutive straight set wins, Panagiotidou’s strength was service consistency – her 76% of first service points won being the highest average of any of the 32 players – but she also remarkably efficient, spending just a total of 4 hours 10 minutes on court.  The win means that Panagiotidou will hold the coveted season ending #1 spot alone.

The Junior Masters is her marks a fourth Junior Tour title of season, having previously won two Cat. 3 titles in her native Greece (Thessaloniki and Larissa) and the Super Category Rome tournament, where the players compete alongside the ATP and WTA stars at the Foro Italico. She also ensures that a Junior Masters title remains in Greek hands for a second consecutive year. Rafael Pagonis won the boys 14 & Under event last year, while Panagiotidou is the first Greek girl ever to win the event.

Peric fell just short of becoming the first player ever to hold the season-ending elite 12 & Under (Carlos Moyà Festival) and Junior Masters titles at the same time. To even qualify for the 16 & Under event as a 13-year old is an impressive feat, so her silver medal will no doubt serve as fuel for an exciting season in 2027.

The day’s remaining matches saw Madalena Fernandes (POR) claim the bronze medal with a 1-6 6-2 6-4 win over Leonie Schauer (AUT), Danai Margariti (CYP) take fifth position over Christine Graf (MON), who retired after dropping the first set, and Ana Chachkhunashvili (GEO) scored her first win of the week to beat Raya Markova (BUL).

24.10.2026 - 14:45 - PAPOIAN COMPLETES PERFECT END TO SEASON

Rafael Papoian (pictured, right) has ended a spectacular season by winning the 14 & Under Tennis Europe Junior Masters title, thanks to a 6-2 6-4 win over Bruno Dzhenev (BUL).

Papoian dominated the match in the early stages, a seven game winning run taking him to a 6-2 3-0 lead. As the victory line approached, Dzhenev began to make inroads, capitalising on the Russian’s errors and winning 4 of the next 5 games to recover to 4-4. The Bulgarian has shown himself to be especially dangerous when coming from behind this week, but Papoian was aware of the threat, deftly breaking serve and holding to take the match – and the gold medal.

Prior to the match, Dzhenev was one of the few players to have beaten Papoian this season, at their only previous meeting in Serbia back in May. But it has taken a super human effort to beat Rafa in recent months - he leaves Monte-Carlo on a 15-match Junior Tour win streak, having claimed three titles in a row – here, the World TEC Open in Barcelona, and the Antwerp Young Champions’ Cup, all without losing a set.

In other action, Britain's Liam Sharkey beat top seed Richard Mitchell (SUI)  to claim the bronze medal. Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP) claimed fifth place overall as Martin Adamca (SVK) retiured from their match. And Luis Saraiva (POR) beat Oskar Laskowski (GBR) to finished seventh.

24.10.2026 - 13:00 - KOCHERZHENKO BECOMES FIRST UKRAINIAN GIRLS 14&U CHAMPION

Mariia Kocherzhenko of Ukraine is the 2026 Tennis Europe Junior Masters champion, overcoming Olivia Conticello (ITA) in the firls’ 14 & Under final. The match was the first meeting between the two players, both of whom were seeking just their second Tennis Europe Junior Tour titles of the season.

Conticello began with an early break , which was quickly neutralised as the players battled through a chess-like first set, which concluded on a seemingly inevitable tie break, edged 7-5 by Kocherzhenko.

Again Conticello broke early in the second set, but the Ukrainian fought back with a run of four consecutive games to wrest the initiative. The sixth game of the set proved to be crucial, a 15-point battle won by Kocherzhenko. But if the dramatic game depleted anyone’s energy, it was the Italian’s. Serving at 3-5, she played an uncharacteristically loose game, with two unforced errors followed by a stunning backhand smash from Kocherzhenko to set up three match points. She duly converted her first with a crosscourt winner and raised her hands in victory.

Kocherzhenko becomes the first Ukrainian to win the girls’ 14 & Under title here at the Masters, and she was cheered on by her hero Marta Kostyuk, the 2015 runner-up. Check out the post-match chat between the two on Instagram…

Beata Maresova beat Nicole Kurylova in an all-Czech battle for the bronze medals, while another Czech, Kristyna Nikodymova beat top seed Eva Maria Bulai to finish in fifth position. The final winner of the day was Alexandra Janoskova, who beat Lilly Falkenberg (SUI) in the battle for seventh/eighth place.

23.10.2026 - 21:00 - PANAGIOTIDOU & PERIC ADVANCE WITH #1 RANKING UP FOR GRABS

Having finished the Race to Monte-Carlo with exactly the same ranking point total (1110), Lydia Panagiotidou of Greece (pictured) and Serbia’s Zana Peric will meet tomorrow in a Girls’ 16 & Under final that will also decide the year-end #1 spot.

Top seed Panagiotidou has posted arguably the most impressive results of the week, sweeping aside the challenges of her three opponents for the loss of just eight games in total. She confirmed her final berth with a 6-0 6-1 win over Georgia’s Ana Chachkunashvili in just 63 minutes. The Greek #1 has won 78% of her first serves this week, leading the entire 32-player field.

Zana Peric was the winner of Group B, despite suffering her first loss of the week. The 13-year old Serbian battled for two and a half hours against Bulgaria’s Raya Markova before capitulating 7-6(6) 1-6 6-3. Markova, coached here by Australian tennis legend Paul McNamee, ends the round-robin stage on a positive note, having recorded her first win of the week.

Christine Graf of Monaco was the only other player with a chance of reaching Saturday’s final, though she needed to win in straight sets and hope that Peric lost heavily. Neither of those situations came to be however, as Graf fell to Madalena Fernandes 6-2 7-5 in the final match to be completed.

23.10.2026 - 20:20 - JONY & KRZYSKO INTO THE FINAL
Mark Jony
(HUN) and Blazej Krzysko (POL) will contest the boys’ 16&U final after completing the group stage with three wins each.

Jony continued his unbeaten run with a 6-1 6-4 victory over Luka Kostic (SRB). After losing the opening game, the Hungarian won six consecutive games to take the first set. Kostic offered more resistance in the second, moving ahead 4-2, but Jony won the final four games to secure his place in the final.

Blazej Krzysko also maintained his perfect record, defeating Marco Mattia Capitini (MON) 7-5 6-4. The Polish player raced to a 3-0 lead in the opening set, but Capitini recovered to move ahead 4-3 and later level at 5-5. Krzysko won the next two games to take the set before building another 3-0 advantage in the second. Although Capitini fought back to 5-4, Krzysko held on to complete the victory.

Vladyslav Bohomolkin (UKR) defeated Nicholai H. Pedersen (DEN) 6-2, winning 60% of the points before the match ended without a second set being completed. Arno Avetisyan (ARM) finished his campaign with a 6-1 7-6 victory over Dmitrii Artemev. The Armenian dominated the opening set, but Artemev made the second much more competitive. Avetisyan led 5-3 before Artemev fought back and moved ahead 6-5. Avetisyan then forced a tiebreak and won it to secure his second victory of the week.

23.10.2026 - 18:30 - CONTICELLO & KOCHERZHENKO SET UP GIRLS 14&U FINAL

The Girls 14 & Under final is set: Olivia Conticello of Italy will play Mariia Kocherzhenko of Ukraine.

Conticello topped Group A by recording her third consecutive win and remains unbeaten after upsetting top seed Eva Maria Bulai (ROU) 7-6 6-2.

Kocherzhenko – the Group B leader at the start of the day – faced Beata Maresova (CZE) in a pressure match that could have seen either player progress. The Czech needed a straight sets victory to win the group and looked on course to do so as she ripped through the last three games of the first set and broke to lead in the second.

A rain delay forced the players off court shortly afterwards, and Kocherzhenko went on her own run when they eventually resumed, reeling off four games in a row to level the match 6-3.

Maresova was always in control of the decider, and eventually won 7-5 3-6 6-3, but by virtue of sets won and lost during the week, the Ukrainian topped her group.

Elsewhere, Lilly Falkenberg (SUI) scored her first win of the week, beating Nicole Kurylova (CZE), while Kristyna Nikodymova (CZE) came from a set down to beat Alexandra Janoskova (SVK).

23.10.2026 - 16:00 - CAPITINI SUBS FOR PERIC AS PLAY RESUMES
Following the withdrawal of top seed Igor Peric, who was injured during his match yesterday, local player Marco Mattia Capitini has stepped in as a substitute. He'll face Group A leader Blazej Krzysko on Court 1 later this afternoon. All the best to Igor, a sad way to end a memorable Tennis Europe Junior Tour season.

23.10.2026 - 14:00 - DZHENEV AND PAPOIAN COMPLETE PERFECT GROUP STAGE
Rain has returned to Monte-Carlo, but the boys’ 14&U competition managed to finish its group-stage matches before play was suspended. Bruno Dzhenev (BUL) and Rafael Papoian both secured their third consecutive wins to book their places in tomorow's final.

Dzhenev secured his third victory with a 6-1 6-3 win over Oskar Laskowski (GBR). The Bulgarian took six consecutive games after Laskowski won the opening game and maintained his advantage throughout the second set. After two three-set victories earlier in the week, including his remarkable recovery from a set and 0-5 down against Martin Adamca, Dzhenev needed just two sets to book his place in the final.

Papoian also finished the group stage with three wins, defeating Liam Sharkey (GBR) 6-4 6-2. The opening set was closely contested, with the players level at 3-3 before Papoian moved ahead. He then won six consecutive games across the two sets, taking the second 6-2 and extending his impressive winning streak to 14 consecutive matches and 28 sets.

Elsewhere, Richard Mitchell (SUI) defeated Martin Adamca (SVK) 7-5 7-5 in a closely contested match, while Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP) beat Luis Saraiva (POR) 6-2 6-4 to finish his group-stage campaign with a victory.

The finalists have met once before in singles on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, with Dzhenev defeating Papoian 6-3 7-5 in the quarter-finals of the Category 1 Jovana Kukarasa Memorial in May this year.

Play is currently suspended due to rain, with matches expected to resume at 15:00, weather permitting.

23.10.2026 - 09:40 - CRUNCH MATCHES ON DAY 3
It's the final day of round robin action in Monte-Carlo, with those all-important group standings to be finalised. As the top player of each group advances to tomorrow's finals in each age category, there are some crunch matches in store. Let's take a look at some of those computations:

Boys 14 & Under
With two wins already under his belt, Bruno Dzhenev can guarantee his spot in the final with a win over Oskar Laskowski (GBR). Over in Group B, the winner of the match between Rafa Popoian and Liam Sharkey will top the group and advance to the final.

Girls 14 & Under
Unbeaten so far, Olivia Serena Conticello can secure her place in the final with a win over #1 Eva Maria Bulai (ROU), though a loss would potentially leave three players with a 2/1 record. Group B sees Mariia Kocherzhenko in pole position: the Ukrainian has won both her matches so far and faces Beata Maresova (CZE).

Boys 16 & Under
Poland's Blazej Krzysko leads Group A with two wins, and faces top seed Igor Peric, who faces a battle for fitness. In Group B, Mark Jony (HUN) is the favourite, and will be confident as he faces Luka Kostic (SRB), having won both of their previous encounters.

Girls 16 & Under
Group A sees the top seed Lydia Panagiotidou (GRE) face the so-far winless Ana Chachkhunashvili (GEO) as she tries to win the group, while Group B favourite Zana Peric (SRB) will be hoping to score a third win over Raya Markova (BUL) this season to claim her spot in the final.

The live streaming is now online...stay tuned for all the action!

📢 Day 2

22.10.2026 - 19:45 - MIXED FORTUNES FOR THE PERIC SIBILINGS

Top seed Lydia Panagiotidou dealt comfortably with the challenge of Danai Margariti (CYP), conceding just one game in each set of the day’s quickest match, lasting just 52 minutes. The Greek #1 leads Group A ahead of Austria’s Leonie Schauer, who today brushed past Ana Chachkhunashvili (GEO) 6-4 6-3.

There was also plenty of interest in the meeting between home favourite Christine Graf (MON) and Zana Peric (SRB). After a closely contested opening set, Peric won the final three games to take it 7-5. Graf fought back from 1-3 in the second to level at 3-3, but the Serbian then won three consecutive games to complete a 7-5 6-3 victory. Peric has now won both her group-stage matches, putting her in a strong position heading into the final day of round-robin play.

There was a much longer contest between Raya Markova (BUL) and Madalena Fernandes (POR). After losing the opening set 6-4, Markova fought back to take the second 6-4, but Fernandes regained control in the decider to secure a 6-4 4-6 6-3 victory.

In the boys’ 16&U competition, Vladyslav Bohomolkin (UKR) was involved in a dramatic encounter with top seed Igor Peric (SRB). Peric took the opening set 6-0, but Bohomolkin recovered from 0-3 in the second to reach a tiebreak, which he won. The Serbian fell during the tiebreak and later retired with Bohomolkin leading 3-0 in the deciding set.

Mark Jony (HUN) recorded a convincing 6-1 6-0 victory over Dmitrii Artemev, completing the match in just one hour.

There was also a first win for Arno Avetisyan (ARM), who defeated Luka Kostic (SRB) 6-4 6-2. The Armenian won a closely contested opening set before taking greater control in the second, winning four consecutive games from 2-2 to complete the victory. Blazej Krzysko (POL) continued his strong start with a 6-2 6-2 win over Nicholai H. Pedersen (DEN). The Polish player won 60% of the points and recorded his second straight-set victory in as many days.

22.10.2026 - 16:30 - DZENEV AND SHARKEY WORK HARD TO REMAIN UNBEATEN
Swings in momentum are to be expected in tennis, but the ability to keep your head while your opponent is running away with the match is a superpower. For the second time in successive days. Bruno Dzhenev (BUL) fought back from a set down to claim a win over a higher ranked player. On this occasion, the Bulgarian had seemed down and out against #3 seed Martin Adamca (SVK), who claimed the first set 6-3 and enjoyed a winning run of seven successive games to lead 5-0 in Set 2. Determined to keep his opponent on the court for as long as possible, Dzhenev slowly but surely began making inroads, eventually drawing level at 5-5. A pair of holds and a tie break later, the match was level.

Now swinging freely, Dzhenev immediately seized the initiative in the deciding set, racing to a 3-0 lead. A second break gave him a comfortable cushion, and the Bulgarian roared – literally – to the top of Group A (see Insta clip below). He next plays Britain’s Oskar Laskowski, who fell in straight sets today to Dzhenev’s victim of yesterday, Richard Mitchell (SUI). Bruno has good memories of their only previous encounter on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, telling us, “We played about five months ago, and it was a great match. I saved a match point, and won in three sets.”

Meanwhile, the recent Barcelona champion Rafael Papoian kept up his winning run, getting past Luis Bernardo Saraiva 7-6(3) 6-3 to remain on top of group B and extend his unbeaten streak to 13 matches and 26 consecutive sets. He next faces Britain’s second seed Liam Sharkey, who is also unbeaten in their group after surviving the day’s longest match. The #2 seed toiled for 3 and a quarter hours before eventually outlasting Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP) 6-7(3) 6-2 7-5.

22.10.2026 - 15:30 - SPOTTED: ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA
Look who we ran into at the Monte-Carlo Country Club! Former Tennis Europe Junior Tour player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was at the club today, so we took the opportunity to ask him a question: What advice would you give your younger self? Having competed on the Junior Tour and won several doubles titles along the way, the Spaniard had a message to share with the next generation of players.

22.10.2026 - 13:10 - CONTICELLO OUTLASTS KURYLOVA IN 3-HOUR THRILLER

It was a good day to be seeded in the Girls 14 & Under event, as all four matches went the way of the higher ranked players.

The match between Olivia Conticello (ITA) and Nicole Kurylova (CZE) turned out to be the most enthralling battle. With both players having won their opening matches yesterday, another win would be a vital step on the way to a possible final. Kurylova started off on fire, blitzing through the first set 6-0. The second set was a different story as Conticello immediately made her mark on the scoreboard, holding – and breaking – for the first time. She closed out the set 6-2 and embarked on a run 13 consecutive points to springboard her way to a 3-0 lead in set 3. Kurylova was in no mood to give up though, fighting back to lead 5-4 only to see the Italian tear through the final three games, sealing the match 0-6 6-2 7-5 in 2 hours 55 minutes. Courtside after the match, she told us, “I tried not to think about the first set score, and to put the ball into court, then I was more confident and consistent. I was really nervous in general in the match, and my mentality was not great, but…one more match tomorrow, I will try to do my best!”

Elsewhere, the matches went more smoothly. Top seed Eva Maria Bulai bounced back from her opening day defeat to score a 6-3 6-4 win over Lilly Falkenberg (SUI), while #2 Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) now tops Group  B after recording her second win in successive days, a 6-3 7-5 victory over Nicole Nikodymova (CZE). Fourth seed Beata Maresova (CZE) improved her career head to head against Alexandra Janoskova (SVK) to 4/0 with another straight sets win.

22.10.2026 - 09:45 - SUN'S OUT, GUNS OUT...
The sun is shining over the Monte-Carlo Country Club and the Junior Tour's big guns are ready for the second day of round robin action. Play gets underway at 10:00 on Courts A, B, C and 17 | Order of Play

In the boys’ 14&U Group A, Martin Adamca (SVK) leads the way, and the third seed meets Bruno Dzhenev (BUL), who came back from a set down to beat top seed Richard Mitchell (SUI), on Court C. Mitchell and Oskar Laskowski (GBR), both looking for their first win, face each other on Court B. In Group B, leader Liam Sharkey (GBR) takes on Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP), while Rafael Papoian plays Luis Saraiva (POR).

The girls’ 14&U draw also saw its top seed stutter on Day 1. Eva Maria Bulai (ROU) lost to Nicole Kurylova (CZE) and now plays Lilly Falkenberg (SUI) in a crunch match on Court C, while Kurylova meets Olivia Serena Conticello (ITA) on Court A. In Group B, Kristyna Nikodymova (CZE) won the all-Czech opener against Beata Maresova and now faces European Junior Championships silver medallist Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR). Maresova plays Alexandra Janoskova (SVK) on Court 17.

The 16&U players take to the courts not before 1pm. In the boys’ Group B, second seed Mark Jony (HUN) tops the group and meets in form Dmitrii Artemev. The girls’ Group B features the home crowd favourite Christine Graf, the first girl from Monaco to qualify for the event since it moved to Monte-Carlo in 2021, who plays second seed Zana Peric (SRB) on Court A after her win over Raya Markova (BUL). In Group A, top seeds Igor Peric (SRB) and Lydia Panagiotidou (GRE) both won in straight sets and are back on court, against Vladyslav Bohomolkin (UKR) and Danai Margariti (CYP) respectively.

📢 Day 1

21.10.2026 - 21:30 - MATCH OF THE DAY...POWERED BY SMARTSHOT
That's all for Day 1 from Monte-Carlo. Join us again tomorrow for live coverage of the second day of round-robin action, and meanwhile check out some highlights from today's Match of the Day, brought to you by Smartshot.

21.10.2026 - 19:15 - HOME WIN FOR GRAF

A special start for Christine Graf, who celebrated her Junior Masters debut with a convincing 6-1 6-1 victory over Raya Markova (BUL) in 91 minutes. The Monegasque player, who is the first girl from Monaco to qualify for the event since it moved to Monte-Carlo in 2021, made an impressive start in front of her home crowd. The two had met at the Bohdan Tomaszewski Cup in Warsaw just two months ago, when Markova won 7-5 6-4. This time, Graf reversed the result, winning 62% of the points and allowing her opponent just two games.

Zana Peric (SRB) and Lydia Panagiotidou (GRE), who shared the top spot in the Race to Monte-Carlo rankings, also opened with straight-set victories. Peric beat Madalena Fernandes (POR) 6-2 6-2, while Panagiotidou defeated Leonie Schauer (AUT) 6-2 6-3. Danai Margariti (CYP) also made a winning start, beating Ana Chachkhunashvili (GEO) 6-3 6-3.

And that’s a wrap on Day 1 in Monte-Carlo! All 32 players have now played their first group-stage matches, with plenty more tennis ahead as the competition continues tomorrow. Stay tuned for more results, stories and highlights from the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

21.10.2026 - 18:25 - ARTEMEV HAS HIGH HOPES

Dmitrii Artemev
won the longest match of the day so far, overcoming a spirited challenge from Serbia’s Luka Kostic in 2hours 45 mins. By far the tallest player in the draw, Artemev used his reach to full effect in snatching the first set tie break 7-5. Kostic hit back immediately, breaking twice in the second set to level 6-2, but the decider saw the roles reversed precisely: Artem built up a double break lead and served out on his first match point for a 6-2 win.

Second seed Mark Jony (HUN) tops Group B after Day 1 following his 6-2 6-3 win over Armenia’s Arno Avetisyan, giving extra significance to tomorrow’s showdown between Jony and Artemev.

Both matches in Group A were over quickly as top seed Igor Peric (SRB) beat Nicholai H Petersen (DEN) and Blazej Krzysko (POL) bested Vladyslav Bohomolkin (UKR) for the loss of just three games each. Tomorrow will see Peric face Bohomolkin while Petersen takes on Krzysko.

21.10.2026 - 16:15 - CZECH MATES, FIERCE RIVALS

The girls’ 14&U competition got off to an exciting start, with an all-Czech clash between Kristyna Nikodymova and Beata Maresova providing one of the day's longest matches. Nikodymova took the opening set 6-1, but Maresova responded with a 6-2 second set to keep herself in contention. The third set brought even more twists, as Nikodymova raced to a 5-1 lead, including a run of eight consecutive points, only for Maresova to win the next four games and level at 5-5. With the match back in the balance, Nikodymova broke serve once again before serving out a 6-1 2-6 7-5 victory after two hours and 42 minutes.

There was another Czech success for Nicole Kurylova, who beat top seed Eva Maria Bulai (ROU) 6-4 7-6(2). Bulai fought back to lead 6-5 in the second set, but Kurylova held her nerve, taking the set into a tiebreak and securing the win.

Meanwhile, Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) also had a great day, defeating Alexandra Janoskova (SVK) 6-1 6-3. The European Junior Championships silver medallist was in control throughout, winning all her service games and converting four of her six break points.

21.10.2026 - 13:30 - BOYS 14 ROUND-UP: DZHENEV SCORES IMPRESSIVE FIGHTBACK

Bruno Dzhenev (BUL, pictured) pulled off an impressive comeback to beat top seed Richard Mitchell in the opening match on the centre court of the Monte-Carlo Country Club. The Swiss #1 looked comfortable as he eased to a 6-3 first set lead. But Dzhenev fought back strongly in set 2, breaking immediately and embarking on a run that saw him win 10 of the last 12 games. The turnaround sees Dzhenev occupy second spot in Group A after the first of three round-robin matches. Leading the group is Martin Adamca (SVK), the third seed, who came from 3-5 down in the first set of his match with Britain’s Oskar Laskowski to claim it 7-5 before adding the second 6-4.

Another Brit, Liam Sharkey, leads Group B after his opening match, a comfortable 6-4 6-2 win over Luis Saraiva (POR). Just behind him is the in-form Rafael Papoian who recorded his second win over Anastasis Mosaikos in a major match in the last two weeks. The pair faced off in the final of the Super Category event in Barcelona earlier this month, which Papoian won 6-4 6-4. The Cypriot made it closer this time, but was unable to prevent a repeat of the same result, eventually going down 7-5 7-5.

21.10.2026 - 09:00 - ABOUT LAST NIGHT

The eve of the Championships was blighted by persistent rain, playing havoc with the players' practice plans, but the Monte-Carlo Country Club was still a hive of activity. The players got together on Tuesday afternoon for the Tennis Europe Junior School, which began with an introduction to Tennis Europe and a fun game of Heads or Tails to test their knowledge. Olivier Lesimple from Dunlop then joined the players for a Q&A session on sponsorship in tennis, before the afternoon turned to a group brainstorming activity. The players were invited to share their opinions about the Junior Tour's digital ecosystem, discussing the online features they would find most useful and offering their perspectives on the future development of the Tour's data services.
