Bounce, the Belgian company reinventing how the tennis and padel worlds consume balls, and Tennis Europe, the largest regional association of World Tennis, today announce a pioneering European partnership. Their shared goal is to give the entire European tennis ecosystem, from players and coaches to clubs and national federations, access to practical solutions that help preserve ball performance over time while reducing the sport's environmental footprint.
Together, the two organisations provide two key ingredients needed to drive meaningful change: the right solutions and the right network. On one side, a proven technology that triples the lifespan of balls while preserving bounce quality. On the other, a network spanning 51 nations, home to over 50,000 tennis clubs and an estimated 29 million players. It is this combination that finally makes real transformation at scale possible.
AN INVISIBLE WASTE, ON A GLOBAL SCALE
Every year, more than 350 million tennis balls are produced worldwide. More than 95% of them end up in landfill or incinerated, often after just a few hours of play, once they lose their pressure. A regular player discards dozens of balls a year; a club goes through thousands. Behind this seemingly harmless habit lies one of the sport's most underestimated sources of waste.
SOLUTIONS TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF EVERY BALL
Bounce tackles the problem at its root. The Bounce Tube, designed for players, recreates a pressurised environment after every match thanks to its built-in pump, allowing players to triple the lifespan of their balls while preserving bounce quality. The Bounce Pro, built for clubs and academies (the biggest consumers of tennis balls) repressurises hundreds of balls at a time. Finally, the Bounce Circular programme collects and recycles end-of-life balls to give them a second life, notably as sports surfaces.
The result? Make the most of every ball: play with better balls for longer, throw away far fewer of them, and give each one a second life. Performance and sustainability stop being a trade-off and become part of the same circular system.
WHAT THE PARTNERSHIP WILL UNLOCK
Through this partnership, Bounce's solutions will be introduced across Tennis Europe's entire network: national federations, affiliated clubs, coaches and players, from Tennis Europe Junior Tour tournaments to senior competitions. The ambition is clear: to make extending ball lifespan and recycling used balls standard practice across Europe, while raising awareness of a more responsible way to play among the next generation of players from an early age.
TWO ACTORS, ONE SHARED CONVICTION
“We created Bounce because, as players, we were tired of throwing our balls away week after week. Today, partnering with Tennis Europe changes the scale entirely: we no longer just have a great solution, we have the network to roll it out across all of Europe. This is exactly what tennis needed to move forward.”
— Antoine Wouters, co-founder of Bounce
“Sustainability is one of the great challenges facing our sport, and it can only be met with concrete solutions and partners able to put them into players' hands. Bounce offers a simple, effective and immediately applicable answer. Tennis Europe’s commitment to reducing the environmental cost of the sport is resolute. Together with Bounce we will take an important step towards this goal across the region.”
— Henrik Thorsøe Pedersen, President of Tennis Europe
By bringing together the right solutions and the right network, Bounce and Tennis Europe aim to prove that a higher-performing game and a more sustainable game are not at odds; they move forward together.
