This week’s Tennis Europe Junior Tour action was highlighted by the 49th edition of the Internationale Deutsche Tennismeisterschaften, the fifth and penultimate 14 & Under Super Category event of the season held in Düren, Germany | Photo Gallery.
Seohyeon Kim’s incredible summer continued, as the Korean player wrapped up her third consecutive Junior Tour title in what has been a hugely successful few weeks as part of the World Tennis/Asian Tennis Federation Touring Team.
Kim was in blistering form all week, losing no more than four games in each of her first five matches. Her final opponent was China’s Ketong Guo, who was playing her eighth match of the week, having emerged from the qualifying competition and reaching the final without conceding a set. Just as in their previous encounter in Paris at the beginning of the month, Kim had the upper hand, though she was pushed hard before taking the match 6-4 7-6. ´
Kim (pictured, second from left) ends her European tour with a perfect 17/0 unbeaten record in singles, adding Düren to titles in Annecy and at the Open Stade Français earlier this month. Even more impressively, she did not concede a set in all 17 matches.
A riveting boys’ singles final produced a marathon win for eighth seeded Australian Novak Palombo, his second title in as many weeks following on from his triumph in Kufstein. The Melbourne-based player fought back to outlast third seed Rafael Papoian 3-6 6-4 7-6 and is now on a 12-match winning streak.
The loss was Papoian’s first in four 2026 finals, having banked Cat.1 titles in Paris and Tim Essonne, as well as the Super Category event in Maia. The meeting was the first encounter between the two, but might one day turn out to be the start of a new ‘Novak vs. Rafael’ tennis rivalry.
Both champions will be hoping to extend their win streaks this week as they lead their national teams at the World Junior Tennis event in Prostejov (CZE).
The bonus draws were won by Aiym Kanagatova (AZE) and Puneeth Manohar (IND). Kanagatova fought back to beat Romania’s Sofia Stoica in the final 2-6 6-1 10-8. Kanagatova had the misfortune to run into the champion Kim in the first round – incredibly, this was their second meeting in successive days as the two players contested the final of the Annecy tournament in France the previous day. Meanwhile, Manohar eased past Mathias Llanos Astudillo (COL) 6-2 6-4.
Manohar also took the doubles title, alongside Mingeon Choi (KOR) when opponents Patricio Alvarez Chavez and Vitor Marques Moraes retired after just one game. Lyubov Pronenko & Daria Strogalshchikova (GER) survived a first set tie break before asserting their authority over Stephani Degac (SWE) & Natalie Pizzul (CRO) in the girls’ final.

- Monaco’s Christine Graf continued her great run, making it two titles in as many weeks by winning the 16&U title at Kottingbrunn (AUT) with a 6-0 6-0 win over top seed Hana Peterlin Pahor (SLO) in the final.
- Australians Lukas Necas and Tatiana Na also beat the top seeds to take the Boys and Girls 14&U titles in Kottingbrunn, while Mateusz Dolinski of Poland took the Boys 16&U.
