25.07.2026 - 13:20 - ANIKINA & WAELTI ARE THE EUROPEAN 14&U CHAMPIONS
Elizaveta Anikina of Estonia and Switzerland’s Jonas Waelti have been crowned as the 50th European 14 & Under Champions in Most, Czechia. Both players upset the top seeds in their finals, though their paths to victory in Sunday’s matches contrasted sharply.
16th seed Anikina began tentatively against top seeded Mariia Kocherzhenko of Ukraine, who held on to an early break to take the first set 6-3. The rallies were long and punishing but the European #1 was winning most of them early on. Anikina seemed spurred on by the loss of the first set, and the rhythm of the match began to change: the rallies were still slow and punishing – the entire match took 2 hours 45 minutes – but increasingly began to go in the favour of the Estonian, who levelled 6-3 and established a 5-1 lead in the third.
She eventually served out a memorable 3-6 6-3 6-2 win for her 17th Tennis Europe Junior Tour title, and becomes just the second ever player from her country to win the European Junior Championships (following Kaia Kanepi’s 16 & Under triumph in 2000).
Shortly afterwards, Jonas Waelti won the first-ever all-Swiss final, adding another accolade to his impressive season. He was firmly in control throughout the match as he cruised past team-mate and frequent doubles partner Richard Mitchell 6-2 6-1. The pair – who have won two Super Category doubles titles together this season – are more than familiar with each other’s games, and Waelti drew their head-to-head record level with one win apiece. He is the fourth Swiss player to win the title, the others being Martina Hingis (1992), Michal Kratochvil (1993) and Nikola Djosic (2021).
With the win, the two champions guaranteed their spots at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo in October. A boon for Anikina, who began the week ranked just #239 in the Race to Masters. Waelti was already ranked #3, behind #1 Mitchell, while Kocherzhenko is also likely to qualify for the season-ending showdown, currently standing in third place.

26.07.2026 - 09:00 - WHO WILL BE CROWNED THE 50th EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONS?
After six days of action and 296 matches across all draws, just four players remain. The boys’ and girls’ singles finals scheduled this morning will decide who becomes the 50th European 14 & Under Champions.
Starting first, at 10am, the girls’ final delivers an intriguing match. Top seed Mariia Kocherzhenko of Ukraine faces #16 Elizaveta Anikina of Estonia. The pair have faced each other six times in total, across singles and doubles competition, with the head-to-head score at 3-3 (Anikina leads 2-1 in singles, though their last meeting was at the beginning of last year).
On the boys’ side, team-mates and doubles partners Richard Mitchell and Jonas Waelti will play a first ever all-Swiss boys’ final. Top seed Mitchell and #7 Waelti have both scored impressive results this season – Mitchell won the Super Category event in Avvenire, while Waelti was the champion of the Wimbledon Invitational event. And they should have good knowledge of each other’s games, having teamed up to win two Super Category doubles titiles: Avvenire and Maia.
Incidentally, the girls’ champion at the Avvenire Super Category event won by Mitchell? None other than Mariia Kocherzhenko. Stay tuned to see if history repeats itself, live from 10am.

25.07.2026 - 17:45 - DOUBLES GOLD FOR GREAT BRITAIN & ITALY
Oskar Laskowski & Liam Sharkey of Great Britain justified their top seeding by beating Spain’s Pablo Jimenez Roman & Jorge Mateo Moreno to win the boys’ doubles competition.
It was a great week for the Brits, who breezed to the title without dropping a set in five matches, and were only once – today - pushed as far as a tie break. The pair responded well to pressure though, as Sharkey said, “We played very well in the first set but in second we slowed down and they came back. We saved six set points though and managed to win in the tie-break.” Both players also served on Britain’s winning Tennis Europe Summer Cups team just a month ago, and complete the sweep of European Individual and Team Championships.
Disappointment then for Jimenez Roman & Mateo Moreno, though their silver medal will be some consolation. Though they were playing together for the first time, both players had reached three previous doubles finals this season; Jimenez Roman is still searching for the elusive win, while Mateo Moreno has now won two and lost two doubles finals in 2026.
Over on Court One, the girls’ final saw a commanding performance from second seeds Olivia Serena Conticello & Giulia Luchetti of Italy. They dropped just five games to Liv Bretscher & Lilly Falkenberg, bringing to an end the run of the Swiss upset merchants.
Though they had not played together until this week, the Italians proved to be a formidable partnership, racing to the title without dropping a set. The win marks a second Junior Tour doubles title for Luchetti, and third for Conticello, and they become the first Italian team to win the girls’ title in almost 30 years and third overall, following Boschieri/Favini (1986) and Vinci/Chieppa (1997).
Their runner-up spot secures Switzerland’s best ever medal haul at the 14 & Under event – a total of four including this silver, a singles bronze for Bretscher, and a guaranteed gold and silver in the boys’ singles tomorrow.
25.07.2026 - 14:35 - KOCHERZHENKO & ANIKINA SEAL GIRLS' FINAL SPOTS
Mariia Kocherzhenko put in a gritty performance to hold off a determined fightback from Switzerland’s Liv Bretscher in two sets, becoming just the second girl from Ukraine ever to reach the European 14 & Under Championship final.
The top seed led 5-1 in the second set and looked on course for a brisk victory before Bretscher mounted an unlikely comeback, chipping away at the lead and winning five games in a row. With the momentum turning, a second serve ‘let’ ace fired up Kocherzhenko, who broke back and steeled herself for the tie break. The two players went toe to toe until the Ukrainian snatched a mini-break with a steaming down the line winner, and held to secure the match 7-5.
Ranked #163, Bretscher has been the revelation player of the Championships, winning five consecutive matches in straight sets, including upsets of third seed Nicole Kurylova (CZE) and #7 seed Olivia Serena Conticello (ITA) to reach the semi-finals. She will leave Most with two medals, having teamed with Lilly Falkenberg to reach the doubles final.
The second semi saw an unfortunate end, as Anna Kuznetsova’s dreams of making an all-Ukrainian final were dashed when she was forced to retire in the second set of her battle with 16th seed Elizaveta Anikina. The Estonian (pictured)had won nine of the twelve games played when Kuznetsova decided not to continue.
Anikina has been playing incredible tennis this week, and maintains her record of not having dropped a set (or been stretched past a 6-4 set) all week. The finalists have played each other several times with Anikina holding a 2/1 advantage in singles action. Two of those matches were 12 & Under encounters, while their sole 14 & Under battle was decided on a final set tie break in Vierumäki some 16 months ago.
25.07.2026 - 13:30 - MITCHELL & WAELTI SET UP ALL-SWISS FINAL
Two Swiss players will battle for the title of 2026 European 14 & Under boys’ champion tomorrow after Richard Mitchell (pictured) and Jonas Waelti each recorded straight sets semifinal wins.
Mitchell, the top seed and current Junior Tour #1 player, was tested by #3 Liam Sharkey of Great Britain but held his nerve to win 6-3 7-6(4). Sharkey fought back from 3-5 down in the second set to force a tie break, but the Swiss star had the cooler head and took the initiative to reel off 4 of the last 5 points.
Jonas Waelti then kept up his side of the deal, dominating 9th seeded Anastasis Mosaikos of Cyprus in the day’s quickest semi-final, winning 6-2 6-1 in 75 minutes. Having arrived in Most fresh from his victory on the grass courts of Wimbledon, Waelti has shown himself to be equally as comfortable on clay and is yet to drop a set this week.
The pair know each other’s games well, having already teamed up to win two Super Category doubles titles together this season (Maia and Avvenire) as well as steering Switzerland to the semi-finals of last month’s Summer Cups team competition. They have met just once on the Junior Tour, with Mitchell winning on a second set retirement from Waelti in Winterthur back in 2023.
Tomorrow’s winner will become just the fourth Swiss player to lift the 14 & Under title, following in the footsteps of Martina Hingis (1992), Michal Kratochvil (1993) and Nikola Djosic (2021).
25.07.2026 - 09:20 - SWISS & UKRAINIAN TEAMS AIM FOR HISTORIC FINALS
Both Switzerland and Ukraine have the chance to secure a historic gold and silver medal sweep (in boys’ and girls’ singles respectively), as Saturday’s semi-final line-up sees two players from each nation in action.
As you can see from the head to head records above, there have been few previous meetings between the eight players. Top seed Mariia Kocherzhenko won her only previous encounter with Liv Bretscher (SUI), though the last remaining unseeded player has been in blistering form this week. #15 seed Anna Kuznetsova will be aiming to make it an all-Ukrainian match on Sunday as she follows against former Carlos Moyá 12 & Under Festival champion Elizaveta Anikina (EST).
In the boys’ event, top seed Richard Mitchell carries a 1-0 lead into his match with in-form Brit Liam Sharkey. He’ll no doubt then be back to cheer on Swiss team-mate Jonas Waelti who faces #9 Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP).
Action will round off with the doubles finals. The boys’ gold medal match sees Sharkey return to the court alongside Oskar Laskowski to face Spain’s Pablo Jimenez Roman & Jorge Mateo Moreno. The girls’ final sees Bretscher go for gold alongside Lilly Falkenberg, as they aim to continue their giant-killing run against second seeds Olivia Serena Conticello & Giulia Luchetti (ITA).

24.07.2026 - 21:45 - DOUBLES FINALS SET
The doubles finalists have been confirmed at the 14 & Under European Junior Championships following a busy day of quarter-final and semi-final action in Most.
In the girls' event, second seeds Olivia Serena Conticello and Giulia Luchetti (ITA) will contest the title after recording straight-set victories in both rounds. Having defeated Romania's Natalia Maria Dicu and Natalia Gabriela Dragomir 7-5 6-4 in the quarter-finals, the Italians produced another fantastic performance to overcome #4 Mariia Kocherzhenko and Anna Kuznetsova (UKR) 6-2 6-1.
Awaiting them in the final are Liv Bretscher and Lilly Falkenberg (SUI), whose impressive week continued with two more victories. The unseeded Swiss pair first defeated #9 Eirini Bekiari and Dimitra Kallistrou (GRE) 6-4 6-4, before upseting third seeds Nicole Kurylova and Krystyna Nikodymova (CZE) 5-7 6-3 10-8 to secure their place in the championship match.
The boys' final will feature top seeds Oskar Laskowski and Liam Sharkey (GBR) against Spaniards #7 Pablo Jimenez Roman and Jorge Mateo Moreno.
The British pair continued their dominant run through the draw, conceding just seven games across two matches. After defeating Romania's Victor-Alexander Dobrescu and Patrick Stefan Dobrin 6-1 6-4 in the quarter-finals, they followed up with a 6-1 6-1 victory over Nicolas Lyam Basilone and Giovanni Di Leva (ITA).
Jimenez Roman and Mateo Moreno also enjoyed a successful day, overcoming Ondrej Jecminek and David Motal (CZE) 6-2 6-2 in the quarter-finals before defeating ninth seeds Maciej Szyca and Antonio Tejerina (POL) by the same scoreline to reach the final.
Attention now turns to Saturday, when the doubles champions will be crowned and the singles finalists decided.

24.07.2026 - 15:45 - MITCHELL LEADS SEMI-FINAL LINE-UP
Top seed Richard Mitchell (SUI) delivered another assured performance, allowing #6 Bruno Dzhenev (BUL) just three games in a 6-0 6-3 victory. The Swiss player now moves one step closer to another major final and one of the most prestigious titles.
Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP) continued to upset the seedings, backing up Thursday's win over fifth seed Luis Bernardo Saraiva with a 6-4 6-3 victory against fourth seed Oskar Laskowski (GBR). Meanwhile, third seed Liam Sharkey (GBR) produced another solid display to end the run of Rafael Fennis (NED) 6-4 6-2 and keep his title hopes alive.
The day's closest encounter came between seventh seed Jonas Waelti (SUI) and Giovanni Di Leva (ITA). Waelti won a tight opening-set tie-break before securing a 7-6(6) 6-1 win and complete the semi-final line-up.
Richard Mitchell and Liam Sharkey will meet for the second time this year, after the Swiss player claimed a 7-5 6-0 victory at Les Petits As in January. The other semi-final sees Jonas Waelti and Anastasis Mosaikos face each other for the first time.
24.07.2026 - 13:10 - GIRLS FINAL FOUR CONFIRMED
The girls’ semi-finals are set after a morning of upsets and some epic battles.
16th seed Elizaveta Anikina was the first player through. The Estonian – already a winner of 16 Tennis Europe Junior Tour titles - was always in control against the sixth seeded home hope Beata Maresova on Centre Court, winning 6-2 6-4.
Liv Bretscher continued her impressive run through to the semis: the unseeded Swiss player beat #7 Olivia Serena Conticello (ITA) 6-4 6-4, taking out her second seed of the event (following her second win over #3 Nicole Kurylova), and is yet to drop a set.
And it’s great news for Ukraine, with both representatives securing marathon wins to reach the semis. Top seed Mariia Kocherzhenko had to work extremely hard to outlast the last remaining Czech player, surviving two tie breaks in a 7-6(1) 2-6 7-6 (4) which lasted 3 hours 15 minutes, and in which she won two less games than her opponent.
By score, one might say that compatriot Anna Kuznetsova had it slightly easier, but the fifteenth seed toiled for even longer: 3.5 hours, to eventually outlast unseeded Bulgarian Karla Barzakova 6-3 5-7 6-1.
Tomorrow, Mariia Kocherzhenko will face Liv Bretscher in a rematch of their Winter Cups encounter earlier this year, which the Ukrainian won 6-4 6-7 6-4. In the other semi-final, Anna Kuznetsova and Elizaveta Anikina will meet for the first time in singles, having previously faced each other in doubles in 2024.
24.07.2026 - 08:55 - QUARTER FINAL ACTION KICKS OFF
It’s Day 5 in Most and the pressure is on. Today’s matches are crucial, with all winners being guaranteed at least a bronze medal.
Top seeds Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) and Richard Mitchell (SUI) lead the charge. In the opening match on centre court, Kocherzhenko faces a tough challenge in the form of a first meeting with Kristyna Nikodymova (CZE). Both players are in form this year, with multiple Junior Tour finals under their belts.
Mitchell may be feeling confident, having beaten his opponent Bruno Dzhenev (BUL) twice already this season. But Dzhenev, not Mitchell, is one of four players in the boys’ draw to still have a chance of winning two European Championship medals this year, and will be back for his doubles match with Alexander Borisov against Italians Nicolas Basilone & Giovanni Di Leva after lunch.

23.07.2026 - 19:50 - ROMANIAN PAIRS STEAL THE SHOW
Romania enjoyed an excellent day in the doubles draws, led by Natalia Maria Dicu and Natalia Gabriela Dragomir. The pair recovered from a set down to defeat sixth seeds Denisa Dudlova and Beata Maresova (CZE) 4-6 7-5 10-8, booking their place in the next round after one of the day's closest contests. The nation's success continued as Victor-Alexander Dobre and Patrick Stefan Dobrin defeated #11 Lionel Friessnegg and Luca Sageder (AUT) in a dramatic match tie-break 2-6 6-4 19-17.
Tournament hosts Czechia had reason to celebrate, with Ondrej Jecminek and David Motal claiming a fantastic 6-2 6-0 victory over 13th seeds Omer Alkin Dogruel (TUR) and Aras Yalcinkaya (TUR). Another standout result came from Giovanni Di Leva and Nicolas Lyam Basilone (ITA), who overcame #12 Tristan Ducros and Romeo Knoll Mintsa-Eya (FRA) 2-6 6-0 13-11.
#4 Alexander Borisov and Bruno Dzhenev (BUL) advanced in straight sets, while Swiss duo Liv Bretscher and Lilly Falkenberg continued their impressive run by upsetting another seeded pair.

23.07.2026 - 15:45 - ITALIAN LEVA-ING HIS MARK
The boys' quarterfinal line-up is complete after today's action in Most. Top seed Richard Mitchell (SUI) continued his impressive run by defeating Sem Sarrazijn (BEL) 6-3 6-2.
One of the day's most anticipated matches lived up to expectations as ninth seed Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP) won against #5 Luis Bernardo Saraiva (POR) 6-4 3-6 7-5. Having lost both of their previous meetings this season at the Super Category events in Maia and Milan, Mosaikos turned the tables to reach the quarterfinals.
The biggest surprise came courtesy of Giovanni Di Leva (ITA), who eliminated second seed Martin Adamca (SVK) 6-3 7-5. The Italian is joined in the last eight by Jonas Waelti (SUI), who continued his strong form with a 6-3 6-3 victory over 11th seed Alexander Borisov (BUL). Rafael Fennis (NED) ended the run of one of the home favourites, Ondrej Jecminek (CZE), with a 6-3 6-1 victory.

23.07.2026 - 12:30 - CZECH TENNIS ASSOCIATION RENEWS COMMITMENT TO HOST CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Czech Republic will continue to host one of Europe's most prestigious junior tennis events in the years ahead. During this week’s WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open, an agreement was signed between the Czech Tennis Association and Tennis Europe confirming that the European 14 & Under Individual Championships will be held in the Czech Republic for the 2027–2029 editions.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Tennis Europe by Vice President Sandi Procter, and on behalf of the Czech Tennis Association by President Jakub Kotrba and First Vice President Petr Pála.
The Czech Republic has long been one of the traditional hosts of the European 14 & Under Championships. It has staged the event continuously since 2005. The tournament was first held in Ostrava (2005–2007), before moving to PlzeΕ (2008–2016), and since 2017 it has been hosted by Most. Thanks to the dedication of the local organisers, the event in Most has consistently offered participants an outstanding sporting experience and exceptional organisational standards.
The Czech Republic's history of hosting European Junior Championships stretches back even further. As early as 1978, the city of PΕerov, then part of Czechoslovakia, hosted the European Junior Championships.
"We greatly appreciate the trust that Tennis Europe has once again placed in us. Hosting the European Championships is not only a prestigious honour for the Czech Tennis Association, but also a recognition of the high standard of work delivered by our organisers and our long-term commitment to junior tennis. We are delighted that over the next three years we will once again welcome Europe's best under-14 girls and boys to compete on Czech courts," said Jakub Kotrba, President of the Czech Tennis Association.
Over the years, Most has become synonymous with the European 14 & Under Championships. Each year, the tournament brings together the continent's finest young players, many of whom go on to establish themselves among the world's elite. The event also provides an important opportunity to showcase Czech tennis, its rich tradition, and its organisational excellence to the European tennis community.
23.07.2026 - 11:55 - CONTICELLO & BARZAKOVA BATTLE HARD TO REACH GIRLS' QUARTERFINALS
Unseeded Karla Barzakova pulled off an impressive comeback to book her spot in tomorrow’s quarter finals. Having lost the first set 0-6 to Vivien Szabo (HUN), the Bulgarian levelled the match 6-4 before reeling off the last six games to repay the first set bagel.
She’ll next play 15th seed Anna Kuznetsova of Ukraine, who dominated fourth seed Lily Falkenberg (DEN), winning in straight sets.
Top seed, and another Ukrainian, Mariia Kocherzhenko breezed through, dropping just three games to Alessandra Urga (GER). She faces home hope Kristyna Nikodymova, who upset fifth seed Ella Bartakova (SVK) 7-6(5) 6-1.
The final match to be completed was the closest of the day, with Italian 9th seed Olivia Serena Conticello (pictured) ending Stella Hanttu’s run in three sets after 2 hours and 45 minutes of play. Full results:

We’re down to the last 16 players in Most, and this morning’s singles battles will decide who advances to tomorrow’s quarterfinals. There are many exciting encounters in prospect, some of which already have history. Here's some highlights to look out for this morning...
On the girls’ side, Centre Court action (see streaming above) opens with fifth seed Beata Maresova (CZE) facing Giulia Luchetti of Italy. The home player holds a 2/1 advantage in their head to head meetings. Over on Court 4, top seed Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) – who played four tie breaks yesterday – faces Alessandra Urga (GER) for the second time in three weeks. Urga won just five games in the first encounter, but will be better prepared this time.
On the boys’ side, Liam Sharkey (GBR) faces Max Kimak. Last time they met – back in April - they played twice in the same event, with Sharkey winning their singles quarterfinal in Piestany, and the Slovakian earning revenge in the doubles final. Another match we recommend to keep an eye on is the battle between 5th seed Luis Bernardo Saraiva (POR) and #9 Anastasis Mosaikos (CYP). This will be their fourth encounter in singles in the last 14 months, with the Portuguese player holding a 2/1 advantage in previous meetings.

22.07.2026 - 21:50 - TOP SEEDS FALL IN DOUBLES ACTION
The doubles draw produced several surprises as a number of seeded pairs saw their campaigns come to an early end. The biggest upset in the girls' event came as Swiss duo Liv Bretscher and Lilly Falkenberg knocked out top seeds Ella Bartakova and Alexandra Janoskova (SVK) 6-3 6-4. There was another surprise on Court 12, where Turkey's Aya Akan and Ece Sen recovered from a set down to defeat #14 Karla Barzakova and Raya Petkova (BUL) 2-6 6-4 10-3.
The boys' draw also saw several seeded teams bow out. Norway's Benjamin Hartley Asp and Fredrik Widholm-Veen eliminated second seeds Richard Mitchell and Jonas Waelti (SUI) 6-3 7-5, while home pair Ondrej Jecminek and David Motal overcame third seeds Martin Adamca and Max Kimak (SVK) 6-4 6-4. Poland's Maciej Szyca and Antonio Tejerina added another upset by defeating fifth seeds Yiannis Leontis and Anastasios Mosaikos (CYP) 6-4 6-4.
Top seeds Oskar Laskowski and Liam Sharkey (GBR) ensured there would be no further surprise at the top of the draw, cruising past Serbia's Djordje Adamovic and Lazar Djokic 6-1 6-2. Victor-Alexander Dobrescu and Patrick Stefan Dobrin (ROU) also progressed after recovering from a set down to beat Czech duo Gabriel Horelka and Sebastian Schamberger 4-6 6-2 10-4

22.07.2026 - 16:20 - TOP SEEDS TESTED, JECMINEK SHINES
The top seeds were both made to work for their places in the last 16. Richard Mitchell (SUI) took the opening set against Kevin Le Li (DEN), but the Dane levelled the match before the Swiss regained control to win the deciding set 6-1. Top seed Mariiia Kocherzhenko (UKR) also needed three sets to overcome Charlotte Hacquard (FRA). After winning the opening-set tiebreak and losing the second by the same margin, the Ukrainian secured a 7-6 6-7 6-4 victory.
Home player Ondrej Jecminek (CZE) recorded one of the standout results of the day, defeating eighth seed Pablo Jimenez Roman (ESP) 3-6 7-6 7-6 to reach the next round. Thirteenth seed Max Kimak (SVK) also recovered from a set down to beat Marco Oliveira Henriques (POR) 4-6 6-4 6-3.
Tomorrow's schedule features several intriguing matches, including another meeting between Luis Bernardo Saraiva (POR) and Anastasios Mosaikos (CYP). They have already faced each other twice this season at the Super Category events in Maia and Milan, with Saraiva winning both encounters. Another match to watch sees home player Beata Maresova (CZE) take on Giulia Luchetti (ITA). They have met every year since 2024, with tomorrow's clash marking their second meeting of 2026 after Luchetti's straight-sets victory in the Stockholm Super Category semi-finals.
22.07.2026 - 12:45 - HAT-TRICK FOR HANTTU OVER MOROZOVA
Stella Hanttu (pictured) made it three singles wins out of three Tennis Europe Junior Tour matches against Vera Morozova (EST) as she knocked out the tenth seed in three sets 7-5 4-6 6-1. The Finn will next face seventh seed Olivia Serena Conticello of Italy, who fought back from a set down to beat Dianne Franssen (NED) 3-6 6-2 6-2.
Elsewhere, the morning’s action went largely with form, with favourites for the boys' title including #2 Martin Adamca (SVK) and Wimbledon champion Jonas Waelti (SUI) advancing in straight sets. Home player Gabriel Horelka (CZE) impressed with a rapid 6-0 6-0 win over Kan Ahic (BIH) to book his spot in the last 16. Stay tuned, there’s plenty more action to come!

22.07.2026 - 09:00 - THIRD ROUND PREVIEW...
A whopping 75 matches are set to be played in Most today, as Europe’s top 14 & Under players battle to secure places in the last 16 of the singles and doubles competitions, plus the consolation competition kicks off (see Bonus Draws, above).
Some of the top seeds can expect tight battles. Girls’ #1 Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) faces France’s Charlotte Hacquard for the second time in a month, having been pushed all the way during a 7-6 6-3 win at their first meeting in the Summer Cups finals recently. The opening match on Court 6 sees 10th seed Vera Morozova (EST) attempt to overcome a 0-2 head-to-head in singles against Stella Hanttu (FIN).
A match to look forward to in the boys’ draw sees Martin Adamca (SVK) face home player David Motal (CZE). Adamca has beaten his rival twice before, but just a few weeks ago was Motal snatched the first set and looked to have gotten the measure of the second seed at the Summer Cups.
Singles matches will be played during the morning, with doubles scheduled for later in the day. It’s 22º in Most, and fairly cloudy: ideal weather for a great day of action...kicking off right now.

21.07.2026 - 21:00 - HENNINGSEN SIDELINED, #1 SEEDS THROUGH
Second seed Emilia Henningsen of Denmark became the biggest name so far to exit the European Junior Championships as the Raynes Park champion was forced to withdraw from her opening matches. Germany’s Carla Pollmueller was the lucky beneficiary of a third round singles spot, and will face Natalia Dicu of Romania tomorrow.
With all 45 scheduled matches now completed, the afternoon provided more early tests for the seeds in action. Boys’ #1 seed Richard Mitchell (SUI) began his campaign in style, dropping just one game to Bogdan-Vasile Caraus (MDA) in exactly one hour of play. 11th seed Alexander Borisov (BUL) levelled up his head-to-head with Aras Yalcinkaya (TUR) at 1-1 with a straight sets win. #14 seed Antonio Tejerina (POL) was not able to advance though, managing just five games against Giovanni De Leva of Italy. And #12 Yiannis Leontis is also out: the Cypriot had a one-set lead over Rafael Fennis but his Dutch opponent (pictured, below) fought back doggedly to win 3-6 7-5 6-4 after 3 hours and 9 minutes, the day’s longest match.
The remaining girls’ seeds had less trouble, with #1 Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR), #5 Ella Bartakova (SVK), #10 Vera Morozova (EST) and #16 Elizaveta Anikina (EST) all advancing in straight sets.
Wednesday’s Order of Play is now online, with last 32 singles and doubles action in store.
21.07.2026 - 17:45 - ACTION HEATS UP IN MOST
After the early exits of the third and 14th seeds in the girls' draw, the surprises kept coming. Karla Barzakova (BUL) upset 11th seed Ginny Chen (GBR) 6-3 7-6, while last year's 12 & Under Festival champion Zana Peric (SRB) eliminated 13th seed Natalia Gabriela Dragomir (ROU) in straight sets.
There was no shortage of drama elsewhere. Lilly Falkenberg (SUI) fought back from a set down to overcome Aleksija Strika (CYP), while eighth seed Alexandra Janoskova (SVK) also had to recover after losing a first-set tiebreak before defeating Victoria Meza Rovira (ESP) 6-7 6-4 7-5. Ninth seed Giulia Luchetti (ITA) completed another comeback, edging past Marie Schmidhofer (AUT) 3-6 6-4 6-4.
On the boys draw, 15th seed Enzo Brito (SWE) sealed his place in the second round with a dominant 6-0 deciding set against Mark Meshcheriakov (UKR). There was disappointment for 16th seed Patrick Serban Dobrin (ROU), who was defeated 6-3 7-5 by Czech Sebastian Schamberger (pictured). There were no such problems for second seed Liam Sharkey (GBR) and third seed Martin Adamca (SVK), who both progressed to the second round.

There have already been a couple of surprises in the girls' singles draw. Liv Bretscher (SUI, pictured) stunned third seed Nicole Kurylova (CZE), allowing the home favourite just three games in a commanding 6-1 6-2 victory. Meanwhile on Court 12, Denmark's Ella Wendell Andrews defeated 14th seed Vega Bontin (SWE) 6-4 6-2. With many matches still in progress, more upsets could yet be on the cards.

20.07.2026 - 20:00 - FIRST ROUND COMPLETE
First-round action concluded in Most, with Pihla Jouhten (FIN) coming back from a set down to defeat Chloe Kuijt (MLT) 4-6 7-5 6-2 in the only three-set match on the girls' singles draw.
It proved to be a challenging day for the Greek boys, who both fell to Czech opponents. Georgios Pountzas (GRE) took the opening set against Gabriel Horelka (CZE), but the home player fought back to secure victory in three sets. Theofilos Tsokanis (GRE) was also beaten by Sebastian Schamberger (CZE), before before the Czech pair made it three wins from three by taking the doubles match.
The closest girls' doubles match saw Switzerland's Liv Bretscher and Lilly Falkenberg edge Germany's Carla Pollumueller and Alessandra Urga 6-1 4-6 11-9 after an intense match tie-break.
Tomorrow's schedule features the first appearances of all 32 seeded players across the boys' and girls' singles draws, including top seeds like Richard Mitchell (SUI), Martin Adamca (SVK), Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) and Emilia Henningsen (DEN).

20.07.2026 - 09:30 - JUNIOR SCHOOL & COACHES MEETING KICK OFF PROCEEDINGS
It’s the first day of action at the Championships, and play begins at 10am following this morning’s Opening Ceremony.
Sunday evening was a busy one for the participants, with a special Tennis Europe Junior School session taking place, as well as the first-ever EJC Coaches’ Meeting, where national team coaches were invited to brainstorm and give feedback about the event to the staff of Tennis Europe’s Junior Tennis Department. The meeting saw the coaches split into three groups to discuss issues such as the Junior Tour rules, rankings, the Junior Championships, and meet with Sophie Pink and Eilidh Le Bouille - representatives from the ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency).
Meanwhile at the Junior School (pictured, below), participants were treated to a welcome gift of official Tennis Europe apparel from partner Fourteen and settled to hear presentations and discussions on Diversity and Inclusion with guest Ines Ferrer - Spain's national coach and also a Junior Tour Tournament Director - and from the event's host city of Most. The ITIA once again was involved, informing the young athletes about the essential topics of Anti-Doping and Anti-Corruption. Photos from both meetings can be found on our dedicated Gallery.
From off-court duties, to on-court battles today. With the seeds due to make their debut on Tuesday follow first round byes, today's 45 matches will determine their opponents. We’ll have more news and analysis later today.

The wait is over. Tomorrow, 158 of Europe's most promising 14 & Under players from 39 nations will begin their quest for European Junior Championship glory as the event's 50th edition gets underway in Most, Czechia.
Hosted by the Czech Tennis Association for a ninth consecutive year, the Championships once again bring together the continent's leading young players. Europe's #1s Richard Mitchell (SUI) and Mariia Kocherzhenko (UKR) head the seedings, but the battle for the titles promises to be fiercely contested with 8 of the Top 10 boys and girls in action. Alongside the European titles, the singles winners will earn 250 ranking points and secure their places at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo this October.
The European Junior Championships have long provided a glimpse into the future of the sport. Former champions include Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Iga Swiatek and Daria Kasatkina, while 13 singles champions and 14 doubles champions have gone on to reach world No. 1.
