📢 Latest News - Day 4
25.10.2025 - 19:20 - SAVVA BIEN! RYBKIN POWERS TO MASTERS TITLE

Savva Rybkin is the new Boys 16 & Under champion in Monte-Carlo after a convincing win over Stan Put in Sunday’s final.
Rybkin underlined his position as Europe’s top-ranked 16-year-old, sweeping through the competition without the loss of a set in his four matches. He continued in the same vein in the final, surviving a tight opening game before going on to dominate the first set 6-1.
His Dutch opponent made inroads in the second set, breaking for a 2-0 lead and reducing his errors but Rybkin responded by raising his game to an even-higher level. From 3-3 in the second set he conceded just four more points, wrapping up victory in just 65 minutes.
This is the second time that Rybkin has won one of Tennis Europe’s season-ending events. He was the champion at the inaugural Carlos Moyá 12 & Under Festival in 2021 and finished as bronze medalist at the 14 & Under Masters here in Monte-Carlo in 2023.
Looking back on his Tennis Europe Junior Tour career, he told us “It’s been a nice journey, all the way from 12 & Under. I remember how I played here at the Junior Masters last time, I was so close to winning so I am happy that I came back more mature and managed to win.”
For his part, Put has ended the season on a high. He leaves the Junior Masters with a second major silver medal in as many months, having also reached the European Junior Championship final in Parma recently.
25.10.2025 - 17:15 - KOVACEVIC DEFENDS TITLE IN 'BATTLE OF THE BESTIES'

Tea Kovacevic etched her name into the Tennis Europe Junior Tour record books once again, becoming the first female player ever to defend a Junior Masters title.
Famously, last year Kovacevic qualified for the Masters in both the 14 and 16 & Under age categories, electing to play the 16s, and winning the event in her debut. This year she qualified in second place – right behind her opponent Maria Valentina Pop – and was in scintillating form throughout the event, completing the round robin stage for the loss of just eight games in three matches.
Pop was also playing in Monte-Carlo for the second time, having finished in eighth position in the 14 & Under event last year, and made the more confident start, breaking for a 3-1 lead in the first set.
Kovacevic embarked on a run of eight consecutive games to establish a 6-3 3-0 lead, but the scoreboard was deceptive, with the first set alone lasting an hour and almost every game going to deuce.
The Bosnian was better on the pressure points however, and was able to cut down on her errors in set 2, allowing her opponent just one more game in wrapping up a 6-3 6-1 win.
Having travelled together on the ITF/Tennis Europe 16&U Touring Team this year, the two ‘besties’ know each other’s games well, even making a fun Instagram video the night before the match in which they revealed their favourite tactics against each other, while finishing each other’s sentences.
“I’m feeling very grateful and very very proud of myself for winning this second time.” Kovacevic said.
25.10.2025 - 15:30 - PAGONIS CAPS UNFORGETTABLE YEAR WITH MASTERS WIN

Top seed Rafael Pagonis has beaten Max Lorincik in a thrilling three-set battle to claim the Junior Masters title.
It was the Slovakian who drew first blood, testing the Pagonis serve throughout the first set, and converting three of the eight break points that came his way to take a 6-4 lead.
Set 2 saw the Greek steady the ship, his mighty first serve improving from 53% to 85%, enabling him to wrest back the initiative. Having traded breaks early in the set, Pagonis secured another in game 9 before levelling at one set apiece.
Now firmly in the zone, the European #1 reeled off four more consecutive games to start the final set, including an immaculate run of eight points in a row to secure and consolidate his second break. Lorincik showed his resilience at 0-4, chipping away at Pagonis’ lead and eventually recovering to 3-4 with some spectacular shot-making. As so often throughout this year though, Pagonis was able to raise his game when he most needed to, steeling himself for a final break and closing the match 6-3 in just under two hours of play.
Pagonis wraps up an outstanding Junior Tour season in which he dominated his rivals and stands clear as the best player in his age group. The Junior Masters is his eighth title of the season including tournament wins on all four surfaces. Along the way he has picked up some of the Tour’s most prestigious crowns including the European Junior Championships and two Super Category events (Maia and Barcelona). He ends his unforgettable season with a 51/5 win loss record in singles.
He told Tennis Europe, "I feel very proud of myself and of my team. I’m happy with this win...my team cried! After the first set I was angry but I tried to stay calm and make him move, tire him out. It worked, so I’m very happy with the strategy.”
25.10.2025 - 12:30 - ÇUKURLUOGLU BECOMES FIRST EVER TURKISH MASTERS WINNER

Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu is celebrating becoming the first ever Turkish Junior Masters champion after a spirited fightback saw her outlast Emilia Henningsen in the girls’ 14 & Under final.
After breaking in the opening game, Çukurluoglu lost five games in a row as her Danish opponent breezed to a 1-set lead. The second set was a mirror image of the first, with Çukurluoglu converting three of her six break points to level up the match.
She continued to raise her game in the third set, winning 89% of her first serve points and breaking four times to win six of the last seven games, squealing with delight as she converted her first match point.
Her win at the Masters represents a career best performance – and first title of the year - for Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu. Having qualified in eighth position, she won two doubles titles this season (including the Super Category Maia event), and was runner-up at the Open Stade Français in Paris in June.
In Monte-Carlo the Rafa Nadal Academy player blasted her way through the round robin stage without losing a set and she has now written her name into the history books alongside Rafa himself, winner of the Boys 14 & Under event in 2000.
Henningsen qualified for the Masters in seventh position after a productive year on the Junior Tour and left spectators with no doubts about her prodigious talent.
The youngest player in the tournament – turning 13 during the event – she has four titles from eight finals in 2025, including a first 16 & Under win, in Stavenger. She arrived in Monte-Carlo in great form having finished as runner-up at the Super Category tournament in Barcelona three weeks ago, where she also claimed the most recent of her 6 doubles titles this year.
25.10.2025 - 11:30 - PREDICTIONS...
As the girls 14 & Under final got under way, we asked the spectators to predict today's winners...
25.10.2025 - 08:30 - FINALS PREVIEW

It’s finals day in Monte-Carlo and we’ve got some excellent match-ups to look forward to. We kick off at 10am with the Girls 14 & Under final, where Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu (TUR) takes on Emilia Henningsen (DEN). Henningsen won their only previous encounter, also on clay, in Sofia earlier this year. But Çukurluoglu has been in fine form this week, and has yet to lose a yet.
Not before 12 noon is the Boys 14 & Under final between top seed and European #1 Rafael Pagonis (GRE) and Max Lorincik (SVK). Pagonis has had a stunning 2025, winning seven titles including the European Junior Championships and two Super Category events (Barcelona and Maia). Lorincik has beaten Pagonis once before – at last year’s Summer Cups finals – and their most recent encounter was just three weeks ago in Barcelona, when the Greek eventually won 6-4 in the third.
Not before 2pm, the Girls 16 & Under final will be an intriguing battle between two best friends on the Junior Tour, Tea Kovacevic (BIH) and Maria Valentina Pop (ROU). Kovacevic will be motivated, as she is looking to become the first player ever to defend the G16 title. But Pop knows her friend’s game well, and as they told us last night, they expect a close battle.
Last but not least, and not before 4pm, Europe’s top ranked 16 year old Savva Rybkin – a wild card entrant - will take on Stan Put of the Netherlands. Put came within a whisker of pulling off a rare feat just last month when he reached the final of the European 16 & Under Championships, a year after winning the 14&U event. Both players are undefeated in Monte-Carlo, and it is their first meeting.
Day 3
24.10.2025 - 18:50 - POP AIMS TO STOP 'BESTIE' KOVACEVIC'S TITLE DEFENCE

Tea Kovacevic returned to the girls 16 & Under final in Monte-Carlo in confident style, conceding just four games in a 66-minute win over Irma Chukhlich of Ukraine.
The Bosnian is looking to become the first player ever to defend the title and emerges from her round robin group having won six consecutive sets.
Maria Valentina Pop and Oliwia Sybicka faced off in the day’s other crucial encounter. With both players unbeaten so far this week the winner was guaranteed to top Group A and join Kovacevic in the final.
Sybicka made the brighter start, breaking once to take the first set 6-3 from her clearly nervous opponent. Top seeded Pop fought back immediately, wresting the initiative amid the swirling winds to dominate the second 6-1. The third set was a high-quality battle with some spectacular rallies. The Romanian had the edge though, eventually sealing the match 6-3 after just over two and a half hours of play.
Explaining her anxious start, Pop told us “I feel really happy but I was really nervous during the match. I really wanted to make it to the final because last year I finished eighth!”
The final will see the friends meet for a fourth time, with Kovacevic currently holding a 2/1 lead in their career encounters. Asked about whether their friendship would have any effect on the outcome, Pop said, “Playing your bestie is hard because we know each other really well on and off the court. We know each other’s games but when we play, we leave the friendship and focus on the match.”
Kovacevic agreed, predicting an entertaining battle, “When you go on court, it just switches in your head. All that players think about is their movements and their results so it’s quite easy but it’s also hard because we practice a lot so she also knows me very well. We know each other’s weaknesses but that makes the match more exciting because it’s more fun.”
24.10.2025 - 16:20 - PUT & RYBKIN ADVANCE TO 16 & UNDER BOYS FINAL

Stan Put (pictured) was in a rush to book his spot in the Boys 16 & Under final. The Dutch #1 wasted no time on Friday, taking just over three quarters of an hour to beat Ivan Marakovic (CRO) 6-1 6-2 and record his easiest win of the week. He told us, "I am very happy to be in the final in such an amazing tournament. I have played some good matches against good players. I feel confident in my game at the moment."
Undefeated in Group A, Put advances to face wild card Savva Rybkin, arguably the tournament favourite. Europe’s top ranked 16-year-old on the ITF Junior rankings, Rybkin has been in confident form this week. He was made to work hard to beat Istvan Mokan (HUN) in a 6-2 7-5 battle that lasted almost two hours.
Both players are former winners of major Tennis Europe events: Put won the European 14 & Under Championships last year (and claimed a silver medal last month at this year’s 16 & Under Championships), while Rybkin won the inaugural Carlos Moyà 12 & Under Festival in 2021. Tomorrow’s match will be their first meeting.
Put commented, "I think It will be a good match, I am looking very forward to it. To play final against a good player at this beautiful club is special. I am feeling very good and I will do all my best to win the final tomorrow."
In other 16 & Under matches, Luka Ceramilac (SRB) beat Eriks Valeinis (LAT) 7-5 6-4 and Laurentiu Badea (ROU) beat Sebastian Tejerina (POL) 6-2 6-2.
24.10.2025 - 15:00 - HENNINGSEN SCORES BIRTHDAY WIN, WILL PLAY ÇUKURLUOGLU IN FINAL

Emilia Henningsen (DEN) will take on Zehila Nil Çukurluoglu (TUR) in the 14 & Under girls final tomorrow, after both players scored decisive wins today.
Henningsen gave herself the best possible present for her 13th birthday, reversing a loss to Grace Bernstein (SWE) in the Barcelona final earlier this month in decisive fashion, 6-3 6-1. The youngest player in the draw, Henningsen scored her easiest win of the week converting six of her nine break points.
Çukurluoglu spent just six more minutes on court, and also conceded just four games in her win over Alexandra Budkova Kjaer. She tops Group A and has yet to lose a set in Monte-Carlo.
The pair have met just once before, at the Avenue Cup in Sofia back in May, where Henningsen claimed a straight sets victory on her way to the final.
In the day’s other matches, Hannelore Daniels brought her A-game against Violetta Skryp, winning 6-0 6-1, while top seed Elizaveta Anikina recovered from a second set fightback from Grace Watson to win 6-2 2-6 6-0.
24.10.2025 - 12:30 - PAGONIS & LORINCIK SET UP BLOCKBUSTER FINAL

Rafael Pagonis and Max Lorincik will compete in the boys’ 14 & Under final tomorrow after both players secured their third straight win this week to top their round robin groups.
Top seed Pagonis (pictured) was first through to the final, taking just over an hour to defeat alternate Enea Gaudenzi 6-3 6-2. Pagonis, the European Champion, has been in great form so far this week and told us, “I’m very happy to qualify for the final. The round robin format was very tough, I never played that before so I had to adjust a little bit and I tried my best to see it like a regular draw.“
There were higher stakes over on Court B where Max Lorincik and Samuel Dakessian faced off knowing that the winner would be guaranteed a place in the gold medal match.
It was France’s Dakessian who struck early, establishing a 4-2 lead in the first set, only for Lorincik to string together five games in a row, taking the set in the process. The second followed a similar pattern, with Dakessian leading 3-1 early on before the Slovakian wore him down. The pair stayed on serve towards the end of the set, but an aggressive 12th game from Lorincik saw him break to conclude a 6-4 7-5 win.
He told us, "I feel really good. I didn't play my best tennis but it was difficult in these windy conditions. Tomorrow I'll play against Rafa. We had a good match a couple of weeks ago, I was 3-1 up in the third set. It will be difficult but I will try to win!"
Pagonis and Lorincik have plenty of history, with the Greek leading their career neetings 3-1. They last met in the semifinals of the Super Category event in Barcelona earlier this mnth, where Pagonis won a thrilling match 6-2 1-6 6-4.
The remaining Boys 14 & Under matches saw two wins for German players: Luys Calin beat stand-in Marco Mattia Capitini (MON) 6-3 6-4 and Lucas Herrera Sanchez beat Mario Vukovic (FRA) 6-4 7-6.

24.10.2025 - 08:50 - FRIDAY WITHOUT FREITAG

Welcome to the third and final day of Round Robin action at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, as players fight to top their groups and advance to tomorrow's finals. One change to the schedule is that unfortunately Moritz Freitag cannot continue in the competition due to injury. The Austrian has been a major power on the Tour this year, with memorable moments including his European Junior Championships medals (singles silver and bronze in doubles), Cat. 1 titles in Rakovnik and Bucharest, and his great performance at SW19, winning the Wimbledon Invitational. All the best Moritz, we hope to see you back on the Junior Tour very soon! Local player Marco Mattia Capitini (MON) will step into Freitag's shoes for the his final match, against Luys Calin.
📢 Day 2
23.10.2025 - 19:50 - RYBKIN & PUT IMPRESS IN LATE MATCHES
Day 2 drew to a close with the Boys 16 & Under matches. Luka Ceramilac (SRB) bounced back from yesterday’s defeat to Savva Rybkin in impressive fashion, dominating Istvan Mokan (HUN) to win 6-0 6-0 in 71 minutes. Rybkin was in similarly convincing form, handing second seed Eriks Valeinis (LAT) his second loss of the week. The European #1 won 6-0 6-3, also in 71 minutes.
Top seed Sebastian Tejerina scored his first win of the week, resisting a second set fightback from Ivan Marakovic (CRO) to win 6-3 7-6(2).
Stan Put and Laurentiu Badea played the most hotly contested match of the evening. Both players were eager to establish a 2/0 record, and it showed as they split the opening sets 6-4.
A tense final set saw European Championship silver medallist Put build on an early lead. Excelling under pressure, Badea saved three match points at 2-5 before holding serve and breaking Put as he served for the match. But the Romanian was unable to draw level, and was broken to love in the final game as Put put himself in contential for a spot in Saturday's final.
23.10.2025 - 17:55 - MARTA KOSTYUK INSPIRES CHUKHLICH WIN
Irma Chukhlich showed her fighting spirit in an impressive comeback against Marie Charlotte Monnier (POL). Monnier dominated the first set, breaking the Ukrainian’s serve three times and conceding just one game. She continued in the same vein at the start of the second, leading 3-1 before Chukhlich began to get into the zone.
After levelling at 3-3, the pair went toe to toe for the rest of the set until Chuklich broke in the twelfth game to level at one set all.
A dramatic final set saw both players level throughout. As they reached the tie break Chukhlich struck first, winning five of the first six points. When the players changed ends, Monnier raced back to even the score, and we’ll let Irma pick up the rest of the story…
“It was 5-all and I saw Marta Kostyuk right in front of me. I knew then I couldn’t lose. She looked at me and I was so crazy motivated. I’m really happy to have won today.”
WTA world #27 Kostyuk also has experience at the Junior Masters, having taken the silver medal in the 2015 edition.
Aside from Chukhlich’s stunning comeback, the other Girls’ 16 & Under matches were surprisingly straightforward: Tea Kovacevic (BIH) took another confident step towards defending her title, taking just over an hour to beat Ayanna Maria Mitu (ROU) 6-0 6-0. Oliwia Sybicka beat Kara Fronek 6-3 6-3 and Maria Valentina Pop conceded just four games to Iva Jerkovic.
23.10.2025 - 17:20 - MARATHON MAN LORINCIK OUTLASTS CALIN

It was a good day at the office for Mario Vukovic (FRA), who raced past Enea Gaudenzi (MON) without the loss of a game. A late substitute for Laurens Drijver, who withdrew after injuring himself yesterday, Gaudenzi only discovered that he would be competing at the event last night. He’ll have another chance to score a win tomorrow, but faces the toughest challenge on the Junior Tour: a battle with European #1 Rafael Pagonis.
Each of the three other boys’ matches turned out to be marathons. Pagonis came back strong in his match after losing the first set 3-6 to Lucas Herrera Sanchez (GER). With both players having won their opening matches yesterday, another win was crucial and Pagonis turned up the heat in the second set, levelling 6-3 and embarking on a run of seven consecutive games to complete the match with a 6-0 final set win.
In another match between two Day 1 winners, second seed Moritz Freitag snatched the first set on a tie break having saved a set point against Samuel Dakessian. If the French boy was disappointed it didn’t show as he came roaring back, dropping just one game in each of the last two sets. He told us, “After the first set I just told myself, just play and if you lose it’s ok, but give your all. The round robin format here is nice, it helps you to focus and I really like it.”
The greatest battle of all was the encounter between Luys Calin and Max Lorincik. Calin led 5-2 in the first set but Lorincik hung in, running off four consecutive games to force a tie break. The German managed to gain the upper hand and clinch the set, but Lorincik’s resilience paid dividends over the rest of the match. After racing to a 4-0 lead in set two he eventually claimed it 6-3, leading to a monumental third.
The final set was full of protracted games, most of which contained several deuces. Lorincik looked to have the upper hand as he broke for a 4-2 lead, but Calin kept coming back, and with each player unable to hold on to a lead, a tie break felt inevitable. The Slovakian claimed an early lead, eventually clinching his first match point at 6-2 to clinch victory in exactly four hours of play. In total, the pair played 247 points, making the encounter the longest match of the tournament so far.
23.10.2025 - 13:30 - WIN LIMITED EDITION DUNLOP RACQUETS!
While we're waiting for play to resume after a brief rain break, head over to Instagram for a chance to win some brand new limited edition equipment from our friends at Dunlop...
23.10.2025 - 12:45 - BERNSTEIN & ÇUKURLUOGLU IN POLE POSITION...

Thursday’s first winner was Grace Watson, who got her campaign back on track with a 6-1 7-5 victory over Alexandra Budkova Kjaer (NOR). Following her opening day defeat, the Brit now stands at 1-1 and will likely have to beat top seed Elizaveta Anikina in tomorrow’s final round robin match to have any chance of progressing further.
Emilia Henningsen (DEN) fought tooth and nail to keep her hopes alive. She recovered from the loss of the opening set against Hannelore Daniels (BEL) to level with a 7-5 win in the second set tie break. The setback seemed to pull some of the wind from Daniels’ sails, while Hennningsen seized her chance. She raced through the next six games to take the set to love and remain in contention. She told us, "What I really like about the round robin format is that even if you lose, there’s always another opportunity the next day to bounce back and improve. It also gives you the chance to face different players and keep challenging yourself."
The four winners of yesterday all faced each other day, leading to some interesting outcomes. Arguably the most impressive performance came from Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu (TUR), who played well enough to beat top seed Elizaveta Anikina (EST) in straight sets, 7-6(4) 6-3 and now sits at the top of the group with two wins and no defeats.
Grace Bernstein (pictured) also turned in her second win in as many days. She was broken three times in a patchy set taken by Violetta Skryp. The second set saw a more aggressive Bernstein reduce her errors and level up 6-2. The players traded three breaks at the start of the final set before Bernstein nosed ahead with a hold, then breaking once more in the final game to secure the 3-6 6-2 6-3 win. Champion at the World TEC Cup Super Category event in Barcelona a fortnight ago, the Swede extends her Junior Tour winning streak to 8 matches and currently sits atop Group B.
23.10.2025 - 10:00 - PLAYERS ARE READY...
Thankfully the rain predicted yesterday has come to nought and the players are already warming up. Today, the 14 & Under girls are the first in action followed by the 14&U boys, and then the 16s in the same order. Don't forget to follow the action live on YouTube, check the updated links above...more soon!
Day 1
22.10.2025 - 19:45 - ALL SET FOR DAY 2...
With play wrapped up for Day 1, tomorrow's schedule is now online. The forecast is for a rainy morning, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a smooth start.
And we say a big Junior Masters welcome to Monaco player Enea Gaudenzi, who has been drafted in to cover for Laurens Drijver, who sadly has to leave us following his injury today. All the best Laurens, we hope to see you back on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour very soon!
22.10.2025 - 19:30 - DAY 1 SUCCESS FOR CHUKHLICH, KOVACEVIC, POP & SYBICKA

Tea Kovacevic (BIH) made a confident start to her campaign to defend the Girls 16 & Under title. The second seed needed just 80 minutes to beat Marie Charlotte Monnier (POL) 6-2 6-2.
Irma Chukhlich (UKR, pictured) got the better of Ayanna Maria Mitu (ROU) in a close two-set match, edging a first set tie break and winning the last four games to come back from 3-5 down in the second.
She was pleased with the performance, telling us, “In general, I’m proud of myself. It’s my first time here, so I was quite nervous when I came on court, but when I started to play hard, fast tennis, I played well and my movement was very good. Thanks to her, for a great match.”
Romania’s other representative in this event, Maria Valentina Pop, managed to advance, scoring a 6-3 6-3 win over Austria’s Kara Fronek. The 6-3 6-3 scoreline doesn’t quite tell the whole story however, as the match took just over two hours, with half of the games going to deuce. Pop performed better on the key points though, converting 6 break points to Fronek’s 3.
The final match to be completed on Day 1 saw Oliwia Sybicka (POL) beat Iva Jerkovic (CRO) by the same 6-3 6-3 scoreline. Their match was a much quicker affair though, with the pair playing 47 less points than the Pop-Fronek match.
22.10.2025 - 17:10 - RYBKIN, BADEA AND PUT OPEN WITH WINS

Savva Rybkin was the first 16 & Under boy to record a win, though it took him two hours to beat Luka Ceramilac (SRB) 6-4 6-4. Rybkin is the highest ranked European 16 year old on the ITF Junior rankings, and is no stranger to Tennis Europe’s season-ending competitions, having won the inaugural 12&U Festival in 2021 and winning a bronze medal here in the 14 & Under event in 2023.
Recent European Junior Championship silver medalist Stan Put (NED) clicked into top gear towards the end of the first set against Sebastian Tejerina (POL), eventually reeling off 8 of the last 9 games to complete a 7-5 6-1 win over the top seed.
Laurentiu Badea (ROU, pictured) survived the day’s longest battle, snuffing out a second set fightback from Ivan Marakovic (CRO) to claim a 7-6(8) 4-6 6-1 win that took just shy of three hours. Evaluating his performance, he told us, “It was a very tough match, my opponent played very good. I was strong enough to finish the match in three sets. In the first he had two set points but I managed to come back and win the tie break. In the second he played very tough, but the third was mine 6-1. So now I need to recover, do some stretching and make sure I’m ready for tomorrow.”
Still on court is the last Boys 16 & Under match to be completed, with Eriks Valeinis (LAT) and Istvan Mokán (HUN) into a final set.
22.10.2025 - 15:15 - BERNSTEIN & ÇUKURLUOGLU IMPRESS IN OPENING MATCHES

Sweden’s Grace Bernstein emerged triumphant from the longest match of the day, fighting back from a set down to win a 3 hour, 10 minute battle with #2 Hannelore Daniels of Belgium.
The battle was extremely even, with both players winning 108 points in total. Bernstein eventually gained the upper hand by improving her service throughout, winning just 42% of first serve points in the opening set, and 82% by set three.
Zeliha Nil Çukurluoglu of Türkiye (pictured) beat Britain’s Grace Watson 6-4 6-3, finishing the match in style by luring her opponent to the net before flashing an elegant cross-court lob winner. She told us, “In the first set I really found my rhythm, and then when she started to come back I tried to stay calm. At 5-3, deuce it was a bit touch-and-go, and my double fault didn't help (laughs) … but I stayed confident and I'm happy with the win.” Check out the match point over on Instagram (and below).
The two other Scandinavian players did not have the same success as Bernstein today; top seed Elizaveta Anikina (EST) dispatched wild card Alexandra Budkova Kjaer (NOR) 6-4 6-0, while Violetta Skryp (UKR) began her campaign in determined fashion, beating Emilia Henningsen (DEN) 6-4 6-3.
22.10.2025 - 12:30 - PAGONIS IN AUTHORITATIVE FORM BUT DRIJVER CRASHES OUT

There was a sad end to the first match – and to his tennis season - for Laurens Drijver, who suffered an injury to his upper leg and was forced to retire against Lucas Ariel Herrera Sanchez while trailing 2-4.
The Dutch player was stretching for a backhand (pictured) at the time, and after a medical evaluation was unable to continue. Unfortunately Laurens will not be fit to play his other round-robin matches, so has withdrawn from the event. We wish him all the best for a swift recovery.
Top seed Rafael Pagonis (GRE) got his campaign off to a strong start by beating the only boy in the field to hold a positive head-to-head record against. The Greek #1 levelled his career matches with Mario Vukovic (FRA) with a comfortable 6-2 6-3 win.
The other two matches saw slight upsets, at least according to the rankings.
