European Summer Cups attract record entries

Team competitions will return to the Tennis Europe Junior Tour next month, when the 14 & Under Summer Cups kick off with more teams competing than ever before.

39 boys’ and 37 girls' teams have entered the events, which will take place as scheduled from 27-29 June (qualifying rounds) and 2-4 July (final rounds). Due to the unprecedented numbers of entries, several preliminary matches will take place to determine berths at the qualifying rounds.

Full details of the preliminary ties, as well as the composition of the qualifying groups, can be found here (boys) and here (girls).

The 14 & Under Summer Cups serve as the European qualifying event for the ITF World Junior Tennis competition, the final rounds of which are due to be held in Prostejov (CZE) in August.

Information about the 16 and 18 & Under Summer Cups events, as well as the 12 & Under Nations Challenge by HEAD will be published soon.

The most recent junior team competition to be held was the 2020 Winter Cups by HEAD, which took place just prior to the pandemic. All Tennis Europe team events this summer will follow the Junior Tour’s strict COVID-19 safety protocols.
