2012 European Seniors Players of the Year

Tennis Europe has revealed the names of the winners of the European Seniors Players of the Year titles for 2012.

Three men (Paul French,  Peter Pokorny and Angelo Sala) and five women (Ingrid Gutmann-Resch, Renata Tomanova, Gail Benedetti, Brigitte Jung and Erzsebet Szentirmay) successfully defended their titles from 2011. Men's 70s winner Peter Pokorny maintains his incredible streak of having won a title almost every year since the introduction of the award in 2000, missing out only once (2009), whilst Heide Orth of Germany returns to the Players of the Year circle to collect her 13th prize; the most of any ladies player.

Benjamin Budziak of Poland, Konstantinos Effraimoglou of Greece and Jurate Hardy of Lithuania all become the first players from their countries ever to win a Player of the Year Award.

The complete list can be found below or on our special gallery of the winners. Medals and certificates will be handed over to representatives of the national tennis federations at Tennis Europe's Annual General Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia, in March.
