45 years ago today, on 31st May 1975, the European Tennis Association (ETA) was founded by representatives from 17 nations at a meeting in Rome.
Now known as Tennis Europe, the organisation has grown to include 50 member nations and now manages over 500 junior tournaments annually, playing an important role for young players aged between 12 and 16 on their way to becoming professionals.
