Masters kicks off with Junior School

A special session of the Tennis Europe Junior School raised the curtain on the season-ending Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Reggio Calabria, Italy.

The final Junior School class of 2019 saw the 32 players present explore a wide range of topics, including:

  • Anti-Doping
  • Sponsorship
  • Media and Social Media
  • Tennis Integrity
  • The Tennis Ecosystem

The School has been devised to assist young athletes as they progress along the pathway to becoming professionals, and has seen over 500 Tennis Europe Junior Tour players attend classes during its first year.

Tennis Europe Junior Committee Chair Eva-Maria Schneider commented, “It was great to see the players so engaged with the content of the School. Here at the Junior Masters are the Tour’s elite players, which gives us a great opportunity to work closely with them and to see them put into practise what they learn at the School.”

The Tennis Europe Junior Masters brings together the top 8 boys and girls of the 14 and 16 & Under age categories according to their performances at Tennis Europe events throughout the year. Former champions include the likes of Rafa Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Kim Clijsters and Belinda Bencic. The four champions will each win a one-week stay at the Mouratoglou Academy in southern France.

Play gets underway on Friday morning, 4th October.
