Around 80 players from across the world attended a special Tennis Europe Junior School class in Tarbes yesterday at the Super Category ‘Les Petits As’ 14 & Under tournament.
Approved by the WTA, the educational programme for young tennis players is entering its second year, with new content on the curriculum. Yesterday’s class saw the debut of a new module focusing on Nutrition & Hydration.
The response from the players was overwhelmingly positive. American fifth seed Clervie Ngounoue said, “I’m very impressed with the School. It was very informative, with a lot of useful information.” Iva Jovanova of North Macedonia said, “The School was very interesting. Today I learned about anti-doping, tennis integrity and nutrition.”
The next Junior School class will take place at the Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris in Stockholm, Sweden on February 23rd.
