The first Tennis Europe Junior Tour Category 1 event of the season – the O1 Properties Christmas Cup in Khimki, Russia – is now underway. The event, which sees many of the Tour's top 14 & Under players in action, is offering live streaming from a number of courts throughout the championships.
The fourth edition of the tournament kicked off on Monday with a series of events. The conclusion of the qualifying competition coincided with the opening ceremony and player parade, which was hosted by leading tv presenter and showman, Ivan Traore. Welcome speeches were given by the tournament director Roman Orlach, the founder of the hosting academy, Alexander Ostrovsky and the referee, Madina Alimova.
The Russian national anthem was then performed by Verstovsky’s music school students (Khimki) and the Russian tricolor flag was raised. The highlight of the evening was a wonderful performance of gymnasts from the ‘Project Hollywood’.
