European Tennis Trophy
Inaugurated in 1991, the EUROPEAN TENNIS TROPHY is an award given each year to the best performing member nations of Tennis Europe in a variety of categories. Points are collected according to performance in the various fields of European tennis during the season, similar to the way in which players on tour collect ranking points as they compete during the year.
The country with the best overall performance in the measured categories (which are weighted according to relative importance) at the end of the season is the EUROPEAN TENNIS TROPHY winner. A full list of previous winners can be found here.
There are four additional trophies presented; those for best performance in the fields of Professional, Junior, Seniors and Wheelchair Tennis.
Tennis Europe announced in January 2018 that France won the 2017 award for Overall Performance, as well as that for Professional Tennis. Russia (Junior Tennis), Germany (Senior Tennis) and Great Britain (Wheelchair Tennis) won the remaining contributing categories. Click here for a full report on the 2017 awards.
