Minsk prepares for Tennis Europe Coaches Conference

Delegates from around Europe are preparing to travel to Minsk for the 2019 Tennis Europe Coaches Conference, which will be hosted by the Belarus Tennis Federation for the first time, from 22-25 May.

This year’s conference focuses on the theme of National Training Centres, and the two-day programme features a range of on and off-court presentations on the topic.

The line-up will see Dermot Sweeney of the International Tennis Federation present an overview of the ITF’s National Training Centre and Facility Programme, as well as a selection of best practices and national showcases from around Europe. The aforementioned programme allows member nations to apply for funding to maintain or extend national training centres, with the aim of increasing facilities and encouraging participation.

The delegates will be treated to a tour of the Belarus Tennis Federation’s state of the art National Training Centre and other Minsk tennis facilities before a gala dinner on the final day.

Also among the speakers are Carl Maes, coach to former world #1 Kim Clijsters and current Director of the Clijsters Academy, renowned coaches Cyril Genevois (FRA), Garry Cahill (IRL) and Piotr Unierzyski (POL), plus ITF Development Officer for Europe Vitor Cabral.
