European Beach Tennis Championships Entries

A total of 87 doubles pairings from 16 nations have so far confirmed entries for the eighth European Beach Tennis Championships, which are due to take place at the resort of Eilat in Israel from 22-24 October.

Around 130 players are expected to take part in the event, which consists of men’s, women’s and mixed doubles competitions.

The national entry list is led by Italy, whose teams have dominated the past editions of the tournament, winning the men's and women's gold medals at all previous events. Last year’s tournament saw Alessandro Calbucci & Marco Garavini became the first men’s pair ever to successfully defend the European title, adding the crown to an impressive 2014 haul that also included the World and Team Championship titles.

Meanwhile Veronica Visani & Eva D’Elia claimed the women’s title in an all-Italian final with Federica Baccheta & Sofia Cimatti 6-4 6-4, reversing a loss at the World Championships the previous week.

France, Russia and Spain are also likely to field strong teams, while the host nation – competing at the event for just a second time - will have high hopes and is able to nominate one additional team in each competition.

The 2015 competition will also see teams from Moldova make their debut at the event.

Player nominations will be revealed after the nomination deadline on 7th September.
