Medvedev receives Tennis Europe Award

Andrei Medvedev has received the Tennis Europe Award for outstanding contribution to the sport. The special silver jug was handed over at last night’s official Davis Cup dinner in Malmö, Sweden, where Medvedev is serving as Advisor to the Ukrainian team.

The 1999 Roland Garros runner-up, Medvedev is the most successful player ever from Ukraine and won 11 ATP World Tour titles during his professional career, four of which were Masters Series events. He reached a career high of world #4 in 1994 and retired from professional play in 2002.

Since retirement, Medvedev has continued to serve the Ukrainian Tennis Federation in a variety of roles, including General Secretary, Vice President, President, Honorary President and Advisor to the Davis Cup team.
