The French team has the most medal chances in the singles events in Klosters as the event reaches its final weekend. Three of the eight semi-final spots are taken by the ‘Equipe tricolore’.

In the boys draw a second all-French final in three years is still possible after Quentin Halys beat Corentin Denolly in 2014. Another Corentin, Moutet this time, made short work of the last Swiss hopeful Luca Keist on Friday. After the clear win in a fight between two lefthanders, he will have tough opposition in Marvin Möller. The speedy German is also fighting against history: No German boy or girl has ever reached a singles final in Klosters. Moutet is looking for history of his own, as he could become one of an elite group of players to have won European Junior Championship titles in all three age categories.

The mouthwatering second semi-final will feature world number 1 Stefanos Tsitsipas and Geoffrey Blancaneaux. The Greek, a semi-finalist here last year already, came out a winner over Estonian Kenneth Raisma, his doubles partner in his title run at the All England Club two weeks ago. Reigning French Open champion Blancaneaux prevailed in two close sets versus German Louis Wessels.

Tessah Andranjafitrimo didn’t lose her nerve in a rain interrupted match versus Czech Monika Kilnarova. In the semis, she has the huge task to play versus world number 1 Olesya Pervushyna, who has played in extremely convincing manner so far. In the other match, the home fans have something to cheer for. Rebeka Masarova, who overcame a one set deficit versus Swede Mirjam Bjorklund, meets third-seed Amina Anshba of Russia.

On Saturday, the first Gold medals will be awarded as well. Russia plays Poland in the boys doubles final, whereas Italy squares off versus Norway on the girls’ side. Belgium and Estonia (boys), Switzerland and Great Britain (girls) all got the bronze.

There is a chance of a first ever all-Spanish final at the European 16 & Under Championships in Moscow, where Rafael Izquierdo Luque takes on France's Jaimee Floyd Angele in the top half of the draw, while Carlos Sanchez Jover faces former 16 & Under Junior Masters winner Marko Miladinovic (SRB) in the other half.

The top four seeds all advanced to the girls' semi-finals. Reigning European 14 & Under champ Iga Swiatek (POL) faces third seed Kaja Juvan (SLO), while second seed Olga Danilovic of Serbia faces #4 Lucie Kankova (CZE).

At the 14 & Under event in Pilsen, top seed Helene Pellicano remains on course to become the first ever Maltese European Champion, and will face 11th seeded Croat Noa Krznaric in her semi-final. The winner will face either second seed Daria Frayman of Russia or home hope Denisa Hindova, who she will also face in the doubles final on Saturday.

The boys' draw sees two Italians remain in contention. Lorenzo Rottoli faces top seeded Czech Dalibor Svrcina, while his team-mate in the doubles final, Lorenzo Musetti, will face unseeded Spaniard Mario Gonzalez Fernandez
